** CORSAIR LIQUID COOLING SOLUTIONS - CRAZIEST DEAL OF 2013 **

Beware the Bitfenix Recon if you're using Corsair AF or SP 120's (performance editions) as it just can't handle them.

>>>I'm going to get a Lamptron FC5.

I'm not going to bother push pulling the Corsair H100 I bought as it just doesn't need it. I might even stick with the stock fans, I am going to put a Spectre Pro in the front though.

Can i ask why?
I have a recon doing nothing at the moment and am contemplating getting some af120's for case and sp120's for my h55
And intended to connect them up to my recon once i get my atx case

Bit cheeky asking here... But has anyone drained/removed tubes and refitted/refilled?

Trying to figure out if braiding the tubes to white is an option (or do I spend 4x the price on a Silverstone Tundra TD02)!

Very very unlikely! That's why Corsair back them up with damage cover etc.

If they leaked all the time Corsair wouldn't be able to afford to support them in such a way... Especially at these refurb prices!

You may want to look into this - H100 modified tubes.

The Recon, or mine at least, can't seem to maintain the right power levels required for the Corsair fans, so they're constantly ramping up or down. ie: The RPM will fluctuate by +/-800RPM every 5-10 seconds.

I have two 120mm AF120 Performance fans, two 120mm SP120 Performance fans and a 200mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro fan, and the Recon works fine with the 200mm fan, but can't maintain RPM if any of the Corsair fans are plugged in, regardless of it it's just one or all 4.
PSU is not an issue.

Just an update, I have been running a refurb H100 practically 24/7 since the creation of this thread and it has been absolutely flawless. I even transported the system to Telford and back (from near the south coast) for i49 in the back of an extremely stiff springed GT86 and no leaks to report, no loose joints, no rattling, all is sound. :)

Have you tried resetting cooler's FW? If you haven't, then it's worth a shot.

To reset the firmware;
1. While the computer is running, hold down the profile button for approximately five seconds
2. Wait one minute, while the unit continues to run
3. Shut down your computer
4. Press and hold the profile button for five seconds while turning on the power to your computer.

Very nice to hear that. Sounds like you've got a solid unit there :)

Cheers! I'll try that this weekend.
I currently have the 200mm bitfenix fan connected to the Recon and the 4 Corsair fans connected to my 600T's integrated fan controller, which works alright, but it would be nice to have them all on the Recon.

so they will replace all that is damaged if they leak (mobo + gfx etc ) ?

If found via our damage claim process, that our cooler leaked due to being faulty on its own and have caused damaged to other hardware in the system, then Yes, we will compensate for those parts that were damaged.

I take it the standard intel bracket will work with a 1150 socket?, Only says on the box 775/1155 but i do remember reading that bracket is the same for a 1150 socket?
