Criteria for MM access has changed.

If you cared so much that you wanted to be able to use the MM, you'd find the time post a few times a day - your only excuse lies along the route of wanting something for nothing, or laziness.

Right so now you are calling me lazy? Absolutely ridiculous.

Well you want access to something for nothing, so erm, yes?

I'v been a member on here since 2009, and I was close to having the required number of posts before the changes.

I don't really see what your point is as I haven't asked for anything at all.

This has been changed for security reasons, if you do not like it, then I am sorry but we are not going to change it back just for you. - Lots of members here support it, us Dons agree this is a good change to reduce the amount of fraud online, scams, and increases security protection.

Recently we have experienced a number of problems there, and this would have cut the problems if we had done it earlier. For example, what if it was you that had lost £500 out of your account? I don't think you would really be moaning about this change.

This did get a LOL from me.

The way I see it is that the MM is provided by OCUK formums for the benefit of the community. IF you want to deal with some randomer go buy on ebay and risk it on there!

Everyone that i have dealt with on the MM have been great, although i know of the stories of scams etc which put a lot of people off. The above changes have been put in place to help reduce this risk, and as a result reduce the work the MODs have to do to keep the place running smoothly.

Its not really something that requires discussion, they have made the change, either get over it or welcome it for the good that it will do to the members market, or cry and winge and go elsewhere.

All in all its a change to make things better for everyone.

I'm not expecting you to change it.

All I have done is point out that I don't agree with it, the reasons why I don't agree with it, and the potential negatives for OCUK and the people that use the MM by doing it.

For doing that (and this is what I am taking offense) I am being called a scammer without the benefit of the doubt, people questioning my integrity and honesty arbitrarily, people calling me lazy for not posting a lot, and generally suffering people who should be upstanding members of the forum being rude and disrespectful.

Really, you don't have to destroy my reputation to state that you disagree with me and the reasons why.

no-one directly called you a scammer, the mechanics behind it are simple, the increased gestation period and post code requirements will hopefully ward off would be scammers.

This of course doesnt mean everyone who doesn't have access is automatically a scammer :)

If people choose not to shop with us because of the MM entitlement, then that just seems petty and seems like it is not going to happen in reality as we are keeping the MM as secure as possible.

Because this rule is in place, we are calling YOU and EVERYONE ELSE a scammer? Right, okay...

I shall leave you to have your comments here as I respect people to have their views, but this does seem a bit over the top, and an unreasonable and unexplained reason as to why you actually disagree. Seems like you just want benefits for free.

To be honest I don't think 1000 posts is a good move, I find it being used as a method to make the forums more active.

If you want to cut down on MM scamming, setup rules that Paypal gift, bank transfer and all the stupid methods of payment that don't have security are not allowed, and if used then used at own risk.

The fact is people are too trusting to other users, use a payment method that is secure and has comeback if the other participant doesn't come through, job done.

And as for the posts, as other have said I am no where near 1000 posts, and only recently have i started posting more due to boredom, but that doesn't sway away from the fact I too would also not have MM access without "forcibly posting".

You simply do not understand. OCUK have been forced into a position where they have to assume the worst case scenario when it comes to new members as they could be here to scam people.

They have to take reasonable measures in order to prevent this as best as possible without being too extreme - which they have now done.

Obviously you can disagree with the amount of posts required and so forth but it's largely irrelevant as they want forum contributors to be using the MM and not just any old people.

You may have been here a while but you aren't really a contributor in the same sense as many other people. You can become one and reap the benefits of the MM, or you can sit in here and spend your time on the forum complaining. The choice is yours.

Really? OcUK is one of the busiest forums in the UK, I don't think we're worrying about that.

You get problematic deals wherever you trade online, the system we have in place is fine for 99% of deals.

You should already have MM access if you had enable your Trust prior to this change.

EDIT - it seems like you have, so you should have access.

OCUK Do not have to have MM this is just there way of trying to protect the genuine users of this forum, tbh i think they should move the free shipping to 1000 posts too, i bet this is why the forums are so active for the free shipping... 1000 posts would ween out the BS people here for a freebie ;) IMHO of course

Good stuff! Should be a bit easier to grab a bargain now.

If only you could make it mandatory for people to leave trust. My last 4 things I bought I didn't get left any trust, despite me paying immediately and leaving them positive trust :(.

You've been here since 2009 and have lived with out MM access up until now... What's another couple of years ;)
