It only does well because its running a the lowest res possible lol.

if the 360 had to output true 1080p or even 720p it would die a horrid death

It's 7 year old hardware running a game that would not even boot on a 7 year old pc. It really does quite well given what it is working with. The pc version is better but considering the leaps in hardware since 2005 it should be a lot better than it is.

This is a gaming PC setup from 2005 will it run Crysis 3 ?

Hi all,

First post here. Just wanted your opinion on how you think a HD5970 would handle this game? I've had the card for 3+ years and can't afford to upgrade/change presently. It's served me well give or take crossfire related problem(s). I'm pretty sure it still has the grunt so long as crossfire is scaling but the 1GB frame buffer is what concerns me. Farcry 3 really highlighted that problem, even turning the settings down didn't alleviate all the hitching and stuttering.

It's next to impossible to find any benchmarks for Crysis 3 with a HD5970. CPU is a 1090T @ 4Ghz.... 8GB RAM (1333mhz). 1920 x 1200 monitor.

Thank you!

So, a step up in terms of visual quality over Metro then?

I think it's truly magnificent!

I did go after the squirrels... ^^^ and Bamby :o

Considering the age of the hardware in the 360 it does quite well. It's not hugely different from the pc and less noticeable if sat on a sofa a few feet from the tv.

Yes not bad.

But, they also said they tested (and recorded) the PC version on a GTX 570 @ 1280 x 720P and mid/high settings....

Basically a budget gaming rig, hardly shows off what a PC could do.

I thought the 360 version, although it looked very impressive for such old hardware, did look more washed out, and obviously lacked detail.

I'm quite looking forward to getting my hands on this at some point.
