CS:GO Discussion

Was on a server yesterday and was absolute peeing myself listening to:

An American
Two French speaking guys (but from arabic descent since they also were speaking arabic)
An Englishmen (Macunian possibly)

And it was so funny listening to the french guys speaking in french and the yank flipping his lid...

And the english guy in true brit style not saying much but coming in with the occasional "SHOT THE **** OP" comment.

Combined with playing CS... it really took me back and I have to say the experience was so fun :) Makes me wish I had a headset!

I'm quite liking this - love the new hitbox - I don't have any problems hitting people but they don't seem to be able to hit me in anyway as fast!

I love the way you can take control from a bot on your team if you die, sort of gives you a second life.

Things I hate mainly include the lack of silencers, the buy menu, the crosshairs (although that can be changed) and the terrible 1st person gun models - some look so so bad and their default position is codish (again luckily that can also be set to default).

Also I need a halfway house mode between casual and competitive, I like the competitive modes except they need another player on each side and free spectating.
 
had a quick go last night for the first time. I really like it and I was owning too (always helps).

I think in general it just feels really solid - the world and especially the guns feel well controlled. will definitely be playing more at the weekend but all good so far.

I played 1.6 and css and liked them all for their time, this is just another step up the evo chain and its a good step.
Did have to change the crosshairs back to old school though, somethings should just be left alone imo! :)

I was a die hard player 1999-2004. The game is a shadow of its former self. Valve may have made the game look prettier but they've added nothing of any great value for 10years. These days it's a death match game and if anyone plays the way it's meant to they get booted etc. Hopefully this game is different.

DOD was the same, the bought a epic game and ruined it by removing stuff rather than adding.
 
Ok well, after initially not liking it, it's growing on me.

Coming from someone who remembers and played CS from beta 1, (those were the days) it feels just like it.

While it's gonna take me some getting used to, as it's been a long time since I played CS, I like the simplicity of it.

Altho I am annoyed that there is no USP 45 + silencer or a silencer on the M4, but hopefully that will come in?

Also, give me Assault!

I agree wholeheartedly with that! I blame CoD. Everyone wants to rush, run and gun.

I like playing hostage maps like assault, italy and office but do you see any Terrorists camping in the spawn and Counter-Terrorists making a good attempt to overcome the terrorist? No, just rushing. The amount of times I'm spamming "Hold This Position" in office at the moment as a terrorist is crazy. I came into a match 15-3 to CT and when i got the Terrorist team to stay in the spawn and stick together we won the match.

I wish they would put the bullet trails back in the game. I really liked them. If someone was shooting at you, you really got a "Oh ****" moment as bullets ricocheted past you and ran away scared.
 
Has anyone else had the beta for a while now and tried to buy the game? I've had the beta for a few months now and just tried to pre-order the game and I get this error message

Yea I do, Had the beta since it started
 
Thought I would put the beta back on since their have been loads of updates.

Just feels like source version 2 really, there have been improvements but meh :/ miss the movement and feeling of 1.6.
