CS:GO Discussion

Liking the changes in the update. I'm not to bother with the M4A1-S nerf, still used it last night in MM. Feels like I've been stuck at GNM for a lifetime though. Need to try and get a lot more MM time done the next week or so and see if I can move up.

My theory is it might be a temporary cover for a lack of planting stance and they wanted to put in everything and this fixes that for now
Im biased because I like change, I wish xp bonus applied to playing every map once a week

Playing with LEM and supreme yesterday and its amazing how they can just shoot everything regardless. I really shouldnt be in that game tbh but anyhow the enemy team is not legit, they are preaiming and some cases prefiring with no info on where to look they only look at one angle and it definetly shows when playing. Demo confirms they walk out shots from behind a wall with exact timing and trace basically, tracking through smoke but nothing clever basically
Im just saying some people are so good on their aim that they kill the wallhack anyway even when vs a 2 second advantage. People dont even bother calling out hacks, its just part of the game now:o 2nd game was a draw and they all idiots with 100 ping and this software advantage and they got shot up anyway, this is when they turn to triggerbots I guess.
Its so common, its distorting the game and aim is so bad on the enemy its nova vs genuine lem but with their 2 second advantage on preaim. I can only think more shoulder peeking would help throw them off and go an erratic route if possible. Got an esea trial and it reminds me of deathmatch, hunt for kills and 1 person dominates a lot as ranks are less even, not complaining as I need aim practise anyhow

uh after having loads of good competitive games managed to get a right troll yesterday.
first called me out for griefing when I was trying to tell them to stick at the bomb site when down and not go off kill hunting.

then 5 rounds later I see he starts wasting money (he had NO kills) and was buying the taser every round.

then he had a clear shot at a reloading enemy, and gets his knife out and dies.

then he tk two members deliberately.

and then I deliberately got myself kicked from the game as I'd had enough and despite being the top scorer couldn't do anything to try and win with him in the way, and we couldn't get enough votes to kick him as clearly some players just don't pay attention at all when you comically get 'who was tking?' and 'what is he doing wrong' in chat.

After an absolutely awful game last night on D2(first game in a couple of days with no warm up, first time opening up CS since the patch), ended up playing an awesome game with Cookeh on de_cache, we each got a decent clutch to polish it off :)

Sorry I passed up on your invite to the premade Swaggy, turned out that I just needed a warm up and was being a drama queen :p

i often have a ping of 150-250 and can honestly say its a disadvantage.

when i have a good ping i can get a lot of kills but with a high ping i cant. i peek, see no one, go back into cover and get killed (not through a wall)

how is the m4 nerfed? Damage ? Spray or accuracy?

EDIT - nevermind managed to see some of the changes. Not had a chance to play it since the update :D

frames have definitely dropped since the update, did the whole verify game thing to no effect. Still getting plenty of frames though so not a game killer for me.

Jumped in to a quick DM to warm up and couldn't seem to miss with the tec 9. Not sure if this was due to the fatter hitboxes but the headshots were coming thick and fast.

For someone who has played cs since it was in beta, cares little about the looks of the game, and sets any graphics setting to the lowest possible value, these animation updates seem like a massive waste of time. ...

Played a match last night, forgot to switch over to the M4a4 so was using the M4a1, still seemed to do ok with it, wasn't really trying to nail any long range shots though

Might fire this up at the weekend! What have I missed? Somebody got vacced??!! Lol
Probably lost my rank now though as been a while since I last played a comp game.

I've been watching speculating some of the games and holy **** the aim some guys have. I never will in a million years will be able to aim that good.

Aim is actually one of the easier skills to pick up :)

But granted that also takes time, along with most things in cs. For people new to the game I would just try to enjoy the game as much as you can before focusing on becoming 'competitive'.

Haha true. Just as long as i am not getting constantly thrashed.

Last night , the teams were ridiculously unbalanced, one bloke from the team decided to knife a team mate and was penalised. So we were 4 and a bot.uggh..

Aren't all matches were based on your ranking ?

Match making is yes.

Back when I was new, I spent the first year or so on public servers. There used to be many big community clan public servers, far more relaxed and noob friendly. Even when I played competitive CSS it was fun to jump on public servers for a bit. Seems as though this isn't as prevalent nowadays, but I'm sure they still exist.

Practice. I also found the coin missions that force you to a certain weapon really help you get to grips with the fire spread, more than doing normal matches.

I think a common thing to get your head around is to think about aiming down and not straight or up as you would do in most fps's to compensate for recoil as you cant really rely on getting head-shots all the time.

I'm getting the same, used to get peaks of 299fps on most maps, now peaks are 150 max with average around 120 which sucks as i can notice it.

was on assault DM and was getting an average fps of 80!

Yea I've been getting frame drops as well, usually sits at a constant 144 (gsync) but occasionally it will drop to 80 odd for some reason, which it really shouldn't be doing on a pair of 980ti.

The new animations are strange, was playing some dm with the old five-seven and was facing an awper who was quick switching after every shot and his module waving the bloody awp around constantly was bloody distracting. Can't say I've noticed it mm however. Love the massive defuse sausages though, they are comical :D

Anybody else attending Dreamhack London? I'll be there for both days so if you fancy slapping high 5's, send me a trust message or I'll be checking in here regularly while there.
