CS:GO Discussion

I play in vent with one of my mates and three randoms on Cache. Went down to a 5 V 1 on me and I killed 3 with headshots in quick succession. What I then got was a barrage of microphone chatter telling me I should "Flash, fall back, go forward, reload etc etc". Literally couldn't hear anything and had to tell them all to shut up so I could hear. I'm watching an angle where I think someone is coming from when some guy proceeds to tell me that there is one coming behind me. I turn around and bang, 2 guys from the angle I was watching kill me lol. It's so frustrating when people scream down the mic dictating how you should play the round.

Patch notes for latest patch.

OPERATION BLOODHOUND

Operation Bloodhound has come to a close.
The Falchion Case will be available as a drop for all players.
GAMEPLAY

Zeus:
Increased price to $200
Reduced kill award to $0
Reduced max player speed to 220

UI

New Music Kits will be available for purchase directly in the main menu for a limited time.
MISC

In official competitive matches, voice communications are now team-only in warmup and half-time, allowing players to discuss player roles and strategies.

The voice in MM is a big change.

wheres the FPS drops are fixed...

from 300 stable to 200-250 with drops to 150 fps....

Thats should be priority to fix. Also i stood on a ladder on Mirage yesterday and shots dont register on people on the ground.

Recently got back into playing the competitive mode. Had to get my 'rank' to level 3 first (PITA) but done that now and just went from silver master to gold nova 1. Enjoying it and seem to be going up against nova 3/4s but can anyone explain the two ranks?

What is the correlation between level + rank?

there is none.

Profile rank is like prestige on COD you just acquire it over time.

MM rank is based on your skill and will go or down accordingly.

I usually spam you about a dozen invites and you never reply, so this is clearly lies - as per your sig. Don't you love me anymore? :(

You do invite me i've been very busy with family matters this week but i should be back to normal next week :)

Bind a button to toggle voice_enable on and off so its nice and easy to activate clutch mode.

I actually had to mute my full team last night as it got unbearable, made it a lot better to play but christ it feels weird at first when you can't hear anything whilst trying to clutch.

It can be good if people talk or terrible, depends just how wrong they are. I'd say its worse if the team says nothing. Like I was in a lobby with a supreme and the rest of us were novas, thats a disaster because the enemies were all his rank and his attitude was I wont say a thing when I die not even the deathcam because nova is so bad they cant use any information. Not true, any player any rank can be killed if you know exactly where they are (or guess on probabilties) and they have to look for you, info can be golden.

I like the voice change, theres more chance of a tactic being called. Nothing to stop it previously but more chance of it randomly now and most games are pretty casual last minute

I dont think Liquid can beat VP. In theory its possible but Im not thinking they are better on teamwork or aim this time.
If Liquid win they need to take Overpass immediately as VP takes mirage and then its a maybe Cache but I think VP are fine on all three. Someone said they are the best at the most maps, train etc

What is the correlation between level + rank?
People used to enter the game with a new account and after only a couple hours head into a global game being streamed with a spinbot. 24hr later it would be banned but now they made new accounts more gradual with xp and other changes.
CSGO would probably be free like TF2 (which wasnt always) if it werent for disrupting comp. They make more money from skins and steam sales tax then the actual game so they want everyone to have it

After an epic cbble game with cookeh last night, finally hit SMFC on my smurf! :)

I really enjoy watching twitch, I've only played cbble in proper matches probably about 10 times in CSGO, but having watched various comps over the last few months, it really helps with knowing plays, angles to watch, how to play areas of the map etc.

Really wanna hit global one either account now, challenge accepted!

Lost my ranked and penalised due to someone in my team hacking (I wasn't aware he was cheating) . Had to win one game to get ranked again, fair enough..but in that one game we were 15-9 up, final round and I'm like 1 kill away from dropping a 30 bomb and I get disconnected and cant rejoin the game  Bad day with CSGO

Would CS:GO make a decent first entry to online FPS gaming? I've tried the likes of CoD etc but I can't be doing with abusive kids throwing tantrums. Obviously all games will have it to some extent but is CS a bit more "grown up" in terms of its user base?

yes CSGO is without doubt a great entry into online fps.

if you can aim in csgo then battlefield and teh such is easy too. So funny watching cod players on csgo reloading all the time.

Might give it a bash after pay-day then. Am I likely to need to mute chat with kiddo around or are people generally well behaved in the language department?

the games like £7 or something, check kinguin or something. Probably even cheaper.

As for kids on microphone in competative you get some kids but mostly teenagers-young adults being idiots. The Polska and Ruskis et al are a pain in the backside, as in most games. For me it's the Eastern Europeans that ruin a am not so much the children.

I'd be inclined to say no, not the best steps into FPS you can make, unless you are playing with a team of friends. if playing with randoms the kids tantrums and abuse you hear in CoD etc will pale into insignificance.

you will not get helpful positional advice from randoms, you will not get helpful weapon advice from randoms. all you will likely get is abuse and squealing/crying/shouting down the mic.

of course if you are getting into it with experienced friends then that's a different kettle of fish.

but as a solo/lone player I'd advise you avoid it like the plague, unless you can 'tune out' to the Russian/polish and even to an extent other UK players who just seem to be on there to act like they have mental health problems.

and for reference I am a solo player even managed to solo up to DMG. so am speaking from experience
