Cyberpunk 2077

Now the patch is out I'm not sure whether to go ps5 or pc with a 5609x and 2070 super. Don't suppose anyone has tried both?

You'd probably get better performance on PC, especially with the updated DLSS being much better. PS5 should still be fine though.

Just gone on sale on PSN as well £19.99. Tempted to finally give it a go. Will wait for some opinions on the PS5 patch before deciding. Ends 02-03.

There's a trial. Why not just play that and see for yourself?
Could do I suppose but 5 hours won't give me the whole picture.

Is it a full 5 hour trial or one of those awful PSN ones which begin as soon as you've started downloading it?

Just picked up a PS4 disc on Amazon for £19.05. Download the PS4 version off the disc then download the free PS5 upgrade. So in essence a PS5 game for less than 20 quid.
Will have to wait to play it though as Horizon Forbidden West is the next game for me to play.

Not sure actually but if you've not played it before then it'll at least let you see what the gameplay is like.

I have it on PC and used to have the PlayStation version that I played on a PS5 up to patch 1.3.

I've not tried either since the latest patch and although I'll fire it up again at some point for a look I can tell you that I just found the game to be really boring.

In my opinion the driving is terrible and the gunplay is clunky and not fun. Doesn't really matter to me what the rest of it is like because without those two elements I can find something much better to fill my time. Plus I've never been able to look past the police just spawning in behind me as it really breaks the immersion.

I'd try the trial and then give it another couple of years to see where it ends up.

Hope that helps. :)

Ok cheers @meths i haven’t totally decided what I’ll do yet. Might just give the demo a quick play. I heard the driving was awful but the sci-if setting does appeal to me. Anyway HZD2 and Elden Ring to think about before that!

The gun play is clunky but the best weapon for me is the Sir Sex Toy or that single shot canon gun which blows people in half. Most blade weapons trigger a kill animation that takes a few seconds, and that slows me down in a fight when surrounded by NPCs. Much quicker to wack them with a sex toy over the head which stuns them passed out and move on.

All the homing weapons that can take out lots of enemies at once are not as fun.

I've just tried the demo on ps5 this morning and it's not as smooth and not as good looking as on on my 5600x 3070ti.

Not surprised. I don't think these consoles will age well given how demanding games are becoming, and the fact that they don't have something like DLSS.

It's £20 on the PS Store too.

5 hours is plenty of time to get a feel for how the game performs and if there are any issues you can't contend with.

The timer is built into the game so it only runs when the game is running.

Installed for a 'tech demo'. Worst HDR implementation in any game I've seen. If I played it I would choose SDR.
Even selecting SDR it had my TV in HDR mode oddly, ps5 set to HDR only when supported.
Combat felt terrible, but I like the aesthetic overall. Probably has potential but I'm grateful for the trial.
£13 on Turkish psn but don't have time for mediocre games so will keep an eye out next year incase they rescue it.
