Dalglish resigned/sacked?

The whole Suarez Evra thing probably helped get him sacked too when FSG watched it unfold then asked him to u turn. Still can't believe Ayre calling out Suarez in his apology.

Did they ever say they want a young manager to build? I mean if they're sniffing around Capello I can't figure out what FSG are doing, starting to wonder if they do, still nothing on the stadium either.

something happened in last hour or so ?

AVB has dropped as low as 1/33 with some bookies and come in significantly on others

Would be ecstatic with Van Gaal and AVB.

Read a good article on AVB's style of management earlier and although it was heavily biased against Chelsea and for Liverpool it still provided a good insight in to his tactics and footballing ethos.

Yeah, I agree - AVB and Van Gaal would be awesome.

Interesting little article here as well: http://katecohensoccer.wordpress.co...-villas-boas-will-be-a-success-at-liverpool‏/

Obviously it ignores the fact that what wins leagues in Portugal might not in England, but it's interesting all the same!

caught a bit of a the van gaal story on epsn, not sure he's such a good fit for the role they say is planned for him, so will be interesting to see how it turns out if it happens.

The concern with van Gaal is how he'll work with a manager. The guy is slightly mad and has a history of being difficult to work with.

Is he not also likely to (probably rightly) think he could do a better job unless the manager gets off to a flier?

I've just checked on Wikipedia and weirdly his lowest win percentage was with Barcelona.

Rumors of Malaga coche as a dark horse for the liverpool spot. That would be intresting guy has 'big club' experience and got malaga into cl postion.

Pellegrini is a good manager, did 'OK' at Real too. But he has had 'oil money' to spend this season so getting Malaga CF to CL spot is not all that great in itself.

Pellegrini has already turned them down according to a Spanish source, it also had this to say:

Now, after the dismissal of Kenny Dalglish, have returned to thinking about the current coach of Malaga to occupy the bench at Anfield. To do this, Liverpool presented him with a hearty supply of seven million euros per season.

That doesn't seem like much considering the amount of rebuilding work that needs to be done?

Here is the full article:

EDIT: or does it just mean his own wage?

That's very possible. It will depend on what exactly his role is and how agreeable he is to that role. He might be at a stage in his life where he doesn't want the pressures and workload of a manager and he's happy to take a back seat.

Interesting article explaining why Dalglish's season was a failure for Liverpool, the domestic cups are just not that important anymore they're more of a secondary bonus prize.

By the time Liverpool claimed £100,000 in prize money for lifting the Carling Cup in February, Chelsea had already earned a staggering £42m from the Champions League.

Cash, not domestic cups, is king.

Also gives you an idea how much Chelsea have cost Spurs by kicking them out of the Champions League.

Ian Ayre admitted as much in a recent interview. Dalglish could've won both cups and finished 4th and he would've still been sacked because Chelsea won the CL and 4th spot lost out.

If one of the supposed reasons that AVB didn't succeed at Chelsea was due to player power why does anyone think it'll be any different at a club with Jamie "I'd injure a team mate in training to get a first team spot" Carragher and Stevie G in it?
