Dalglish resigned/sacked?

everyone needs a chance but this is a gamble if you ask me.

This is a massive gamble if you ask me. Liverpool really need to get back into the Champions League asap, because without that additional income it can only hurt the club in the long term.

Is Rodgers really the man to turn Liverpools fortunes around and get us back into the Champions League, Im not sure he is. But if he is appointed as manager, will will give him time.

But you can bet your bottom dollar that if we arent towards the top half of the table by christmas, then there will be calls once again for the owners and managers head! And we will be going through this all again.

What the club needs right now is stability, a manager with experiance. A manager that is given the financial support and time by the owners to rebuild the squad, but I fear that Rodgers isnt going to get either.

Worrying times ahead me thinks

Exactly this, if the fans can see this then why can the board not?

It's not as if you have unlimited funds or even a few youngsters to shake things up either.

What's going to happen with Sigurdsson? Was he going to Swansea to work with Rodgers or was he just going to Swansea? ;)

He was going to work with Rodgers. Already talk that Reading are close to stepping in and offering him an alternative now the takeovers gone through, but I can actually see Rodgers wanting him with him at Liverpool if he is named as boss.

Shame I'm not actually joking. As I'm local to Reading I witnessed first hand how poor he was with a team not suited to his style of play. I could be very wrong, and in some ways I hope I am, but I would be very surprised if Liverpool weren't struggling badly by Christmas.

Managers need time to mature and learn the trade and the league they manage in. And on the other hand, technique plays a part, look at Hodgson, he came to Liverpool from a decent West Brom side and flopped, went back to West Brom and now he is England manager. If your saying Rodgers hasnt earnt a chance at the job then who has?

I'm not saying that at all. I've already said, in my opinion, he's a one trick pony, and that trick wont work at Liverpool.

I've actually got a Liverpool fan sat next to me at work who is literally crying into his hands, he can't believe they haven't gone for experience in Van Gaal.

I welcome our new Northern Irish Overlord. :D

I will be right behind him and I just hope that the current players/players he brings in share his vision and can carry out what he will plan.

What I don't want is the real Livepool fans to start spouting that he is not good enough before he even starts managing the club. Give the man a chance, as i said in my previous post Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish, in his first term as manager, were not deemed as great managers before they managed Liverpool (none of them had any experiance of top flight football management before managing Liverpool!).

Come on Buck Rodgers, take us up to the top 4.

I agree. I don't actually think a big name is what we needed. His philosophy is modern and will (if implemented well) can take us forward. I can see him changing a few players but I'm hoping he manages to keep Steve Clarke on board. Could be a very good partnership as I think Clarke carried KD at times last season.

lol Martinez pledges future to Wigan.... is that because Liverpool didn't want you in the end Roberto? :D

Cant see Rodgers working out personally, hired on the basis of one good season (in relative terms) in the PL? Hmm....

Happy with Rodgers. I just hope he gets the backing of all the supporters and hasn't been given stupid objectives by FSG. This will be a long term project and everyone involved will need to understand and accept we won't be competing with the best for a while.

SSN: Wigan manager Roberto Martinez pledges his future to the club after talks with chairman Dave Whelan. More on SSN at 6pm.

Cheets will be pleased, another year of narrowly avoiding relegation! :p

I'd imagine Rodgers will take Joe Allen with him, especially as Liverpool were being linked with him before they sacked Dalglish

As a Liverpool fan, happy to give the guy a chance.

He did very well at Swansea all things considered. Just hope he gets the chance to rebuild the team however he decides.

Interesting to see if he goes for a big shakeup, or thinks there is mis used quality already.
