US: Dark Matter - may contain spoilers

Yeah, watched 3 episodes so far, the last was pretty dull, the end was the only saving grace that has me intrigued enough to watch the next episode. Mind you, it doesn't take much - it's summer so my regular shows have finished their seasons, so Dark Matter is better than nothing for now :)

Why are all the characters so unlikeable and unengaging? The story has no pace, but they throw in a twist to try and hope that will keep us watching for the other 40 boring minutes. I'm just about ready to give up on this.

generic 90s scifi formula is why.

Losing interest with this already, getting to the point where you can watch a episode at x2 or x6 speed and still know whats going off.

Wish they'd bring back Stargate Universe.

Not everyone's cup of tea by the posts above but we all should at least be grateful to have a sci-fi show currently airing. Seemed like the whole genre had died off and been replaced with crappy reality shows. :)

Seen 4 episodes so far and while its got it's flaws ill give it a season (unless cancelled) till I judge it too harshly.

Anyone still watching this?

Some confusing moment in this show apparently number 2 and number 3 crew members slept together I am of course talking about Melissa O'Neil and one of the other crew, but it appears to have been cut or edited out? makes the whole show confusing.

Then again have noticed people might have just given up on this show lol
killjoys is a better version tbh more swearing and more adult show.

it wasn't cut out, it was in last week's show and all you saw was her leaving his room. The only reason it mattered is that number 1 saw her and got all jealous.

I like the way that the revelations about their past are slowly surfacing but they need to ramp it up a bit if they are to make it to a second season.

thanks, perils of watching stuff and surfing the net :D

yeah its picking up slowly....but it needs bit more at this point

I still have them recorded, when I run out of things to watch I will catch up on this - at that point I will enjoy the show simply because I have nothing else to watch, and that may give it a chance to grow on me

If it's not very good there's nothing to really be grateful for; it just goes to show how unoriginal, derivative and low-budget the genre has become.

youd think with special effects and cgi getting cheaper all the time scifi would be getting better...

I doubt this will last more than 1 or 2 series, better series have been canned, it's watchable but nothing amazing.

MW

I've lasted 1.5 episodes, no more.

Same here give or take. It's just so slow and uninventive, shocking really. I'm a die hard sci-fi fan so will give almost anything a try. There have been a few really rubbish shows being churned out of late that seem to inexplicably make it through the first season. Under the Dome, started OK but quickly became nonsense. I caught the first episode of Z-Nation last night and that's another one I'd be surprised to make season 2. I've stuck with Falling skies, but that has gone the same way as the rest, with the plot just meandering off into none existent. Last decent sci-fi series I enjoyed was BSG and even that one felt like they'd run out of ideas at the end. Luckily we still have the likes of "The walking dead" & "Game of Thrones" that have great characters that engage people.

Reminds me during the new terminator film they showed chevron mountain entrance with some army personal standing outside it, perhaps they borrowed it from SG1 series thinking no one would know ;)

They should have made dark matter 15 rated, killjoys seems bit more adult rated they use swearies and suggest more it adds to the tone of the show then again dark matter would need a lot more at this point.
