Dark Souls 2 - Thread

Well, so far the mobs seem a little harder than DS1, as they travel in denser packs and are less predictable and more relentless. However the bosses are beyond awful, they take next to no damage to kill and have slow/clunky and easily exploitable attack patterns and movement.

All bosses have been a joke bar

The Pursuer, and he wasn't all that difficult, just lure him to the fog gate you entered and sprint for the ballista, he will literally take the worlds slowest walk right towards you in perfect positioning to get 2 shotted.

Combat is better though, albeit a little dumbed down for greatswords + ultra greatswords, their attack speeds aren't much slower than one handed weapons, and nowhere near as slow as they were in DS1. Feels to me like there is no downside to using huge weapons other than it costing more stamina to swing, as wielded two handed even a +0 greatsword demolishes anything it touches.

Yay! Got the ******* Sword at +3 and loving it :D

Still not done that boss with 3 of them in the room, it's too tough :( So I did the extra part in Cardinal Tower where you unlock doors with the soldier key. And also did the boss in tower of blue (cool fight :)).

So a little more powerful now, just need a large titanite shard then I will get my sword a little higher then attack that tri boss again.

I've invaded 2 people so far, killed both, good fun :D And helped one guy.

finsihed last night , think I prefer ds1 more but not too far off got annoyed at the end the way you have to do it to complete it though :(

around 20 hours I think , I'm not sure it's easier I would just say none of the mechanics are new so if you played the first you already have an idea to counter them

Yeah, this. They basically remake the same game, so anyone who has played Demon's or Dark will already be familiar with everything.

I got 7 hours on my char, only just ready to fight the tri boss fight guys. I assume I'm going to take much longer than 20 hours to complete then?

do you mean the ruin sentinels?
if so, theres a badass NPC magic user, summon sign in a cell just before the gate on the right hand side, i was struggling with regular summons until I found that, makes things easier.

Anyone else struggling with performing guard break (RB+forward) and jumping attack (RT+forward)?

I had no problems in DS1, but literally 1 in 50 times can I pull these off. There's no chance in combat of even trying to use these as it is.

YES, I thought it was just me. I can never get it off when I need to, instead I just feebly swing often getting me into deeper ****. If only it were possible to rebind it on controller?

I've had issues with guard break in every bloody game. The amount of times I've died because I've tried to guard break instead of attack is staggering :(.

Make sure you press forward a split second before the trigger/bumper.
