Dark Souls 2 - Thread

I know!... Got to do it a few more times though, as I'm trying to get an expensive ring, and it is the best way to farm souls atm.

Btw, a hell of a lot of people seem to summon two helpers for their first attempt at bosses... I would have thought you would at least try once solo, or with just NPC summons.

Yea i do the boss solo, then offer help and its a shame to see the boss cutscene in other peoples game, surely you should at least try it alone first but its up to them i suppose, just seems odd to me

I summon every NPC for a boss first time, as you might miss out on something, but otherwise I would have thought you would lose some of the atmosphere and general feel of the game if you summon other players before trying it yourself.

I don't summon people until I've died a few times attempting the boss, unless I think I can do it by myself. The only bosses I've summoned on have been Spider boss, Smelter Demon, Ruin Sentinels, Throne Watcher/Defender and Chariot.

Dedicated servers, r-right guys? Apparently the region lock feature only makes so Japanese players are separated from the rest of the players.

And my friend said he managed to kill a hacker the other day while playing. HE got 1 million + souls for the kill. Usually this would be a good thing, but it's completely messed up his soul memory as a result.

Hrmm well pvp is matched by Soul Memory so your mate mustve had a similar amount of souls (either got, not used, or used to upgrade stuff and/or level up)

The soul memory matchup is better than DS1 because at least those who are glitching for millions of souls should be fighting other glitchers/hackers.

Though i will recommend if you want to do pvp i'd advise finish game first (so you can get late game weapons and upgrade those). If you invest in adaptability it increases your i-frames when dodging/rolling so less chance of being gimped by a backstab. Theres a couple of items in the game that help a lot against backstabs/criticals (essentially nullifies them) I wont spoil the surprise though ;)

Chances are mate they are on new characters, when you start a new game for whatever reason all the cutscenes come back.

Sigh...

I think it's worth spoiling this to stop others from feeling the same kind of misery I am.

I lit a torch next to agadyne in the undead crypt because a message on the floor said there was an illusion :( I want to murder the person that wrote that message!

I now owe 120000 souls to the priest :(

I've almost completed the game, I have only just realised you can summon npcs. I still haven't yet though because I can't find the summon signs...

Did his rather specific request not dissuade you?

A lot of them are in pretty random places, unless you go through an area entirely human you will probably miss most of them.

The only phantoms you ever need to summon are Benhart and Lucatiel for their respective achievements (both of which are pretty easy, Benharts especially can be cheesed in 15 minutes on a boss he can solo) and Pate if you want his gear for free.

Besides them, the only Phantom everyone SHOULD summon is Jester Tarkus.....I mean Jester Thomas, purely because he's awesome.

Yeah sometimes messages are just trolloloool.

Good news for you is that Undead Crypt (before boss door) there is a ton of enemies that keep respawning (as long as u dont kill the zombie ringin the bell) i reckon youll get 100k at least in 5 min. Faster i u summon help

I ended up helping people in co op and got the 120k in a couple of hours, not as bad as I thought it was going to be :) Still, I heard the warnings but I decided to ignore them thinking I could reset the guy with a bonfire... Learned my lesson :p

I finally summoned and npc too, but he was pretty useless. Just stood infront of the boss and died!

Trying to think of another kind of play through to do after my bow one. Maybe dual wield?

I really loved my dual-wield build...once I had worked out the value of adaptability that is!

Power stancing two falchions is pretty epic. Also I switched to a rapier(the poison one)in one hand for PVP when I was invaded and it worked great.

where do I get all the fantastic miracle spells guys, for instance Sunlight Spear? I just at Brightstone on my first playthrough, I've got 35 faith now but not seen any decent miracle spells yet.

Sunlight Spear is a rank 3 covenant reward for Heirs of the Sun.

Besides that, Licia of Lindeldt sells Lightning Spear, Great Lightning Spear can be bought from Straid and another two copies can be found in a few places
