Dark Souls 2 - Thread

Oh j thought you just need the ember, then give it to the smith in bastille? Is there more to it then?

A little. Someone further game might be able to confirm if stones can be bought from a trader, but I've only found 1 or 2 stones to infuse a weapon so far and I'm further than Iron Keep. You need certain stones to infuse to a certain type. Look in your inventory to see if you have any stones that you've picked up.

Easy stones can be aquired from the cute petrification lizard things in the giant boarded up hole in shaded ruins, good drop rate too.

yeah its pretty cool. Though a bit of a stamina drain if u like the fancy moves. The DPS is excellent though. Put something like poison damage (either infuse or buffed) and its freakish. I vastly prefer the smaller-ish weapons to the large slow weapons. Im using it as a mundane weapon atm but will buff it with a variety of stuff (dark, poison, lightning, resonant weapon etc)

Mundane is the only way to go, if you have the dex for a Santier's then you'll have enough for a whip, which is better for applying poison to things, beware though that twinblades like the Santier's are absolutely awful for PVP, they are the easiest things to parry..

Dmg output on mundane Santier's is ridiculous, it absolutely shreds bosses if buffed with dark. Only problem is you can get carried away with its damage then realise you have no stamina left and get punished pretty hard.

PS. NG+ Gargoyles can die in a fire!

Didn't realize you could be summoned into another players game and forced into a PVP with them, I was just entering Grave Of Saints in hollow form having not laid my summon sign down anywhere in game, I was suddenly pulled into another players game and had to PVP with him before I could return to my own game, can't remember the players name, he was a Cleric going by the attire and was chucking all sorts of weird and wonderful spells at me! Managed to get the drop on him and whacked him a few times with my ******* sword +7, received 140,000 souls for the pleasure! Ha! serves the sucker right for interrupting me!:p

ok guys I need help...I'm loosing patience with what I reckon is the end boss, although something doesnt feel quite right. I'm at the bad ass dragon at the end, on top of Dragon Shrine. What the hell is the deal with this thing, 1 hit with any of his attacks and I'm out for the count. Can't defend anything he does, I've even tried more than a dozen times by summoning help but the most any of us has taken from him is half bar health. If this isnt the end boss, I hate tothink how hard THE end boss is. Can any of you help me please, I've been trying for 10 hours to beat this fool.

He's not really a boss and no he's not the last boss :P To be honest just leave him alone as he only drops a giant soul which is supposed to weaken Vendrick when you carry a bunch of them. But Vendrick is so **** easy its not even worth it. If i was near a comp i'd help you out, he's easy to take out at range if you have some spells?

Ahh the ancient dragon heh yeh ive been "helping" ps3 folk with this boss. Unfortunately most of them die to the breathe attack.

Id advise going melee and mashing away at his left foreleg. BUT when he starts his instakill breathe attack run behiind him.

If you want to do it easy get Gowers Ring of Protection (it nullifes crit back attacks)

But hes a big mother though ehh lol. Im a little bored with DS2 (great game tho) i spent a lot of time messing around with weapons and exploring so still on first playthrough (near end) mainly coz not sure i would have motivation to do multiple playthroughs. If i want a particular item e.g. gowers ring then bonfire ascetic to get it :D

For lol's last night i fired up the ps3 version, and my pc version on another channel at full settings

Everyone usually says theres not much of a difference but jesus how did i put up with the ps3 one for 50ish hours!! The difference is jarring, i never really notice it too much myself but side by side it was soo clear.

The ps3 on just looked really blurry and felt extremely choppy, but when i played it at launch i was chuffed with how it looked and performed :D

That frame rate also makes it feel like a different game!

I know this is stating the obvious to pc gamers but i never noticed it to this extent before! Makes me appreciate how good this game looks and runs on pc

So at drangleic castle now and have got my faith to 50!

Im using lightning weapons to take advantage of faith scaling. So im using a lightning claymore+10 and a lightning mace +10

Will i get more out of these if i put more points into strength? Im not sure if scaling stacks or if it will just go off my faith regardless?

Currently have str at 20 just to use the claymore in one hand

Thanks!

Picked this up last night, going to have a go after I've finished Wolfenstein.

Any tips to a new comer to the franchise?

What are the best graphic setting / mods for dual 290s? Supersampling etc

Any tips to a new comer to the franchise?

Just a few basics-

Read up a guide or something in order to get to grips with levelling and scaling etc, which can be confusing at first...However;
Don't follow any walkthroughs or specific builds on your first go.
DO NOT join the covenant by the gravestone thing in Majula(champions or something)
Find a weapon you are comfortable with and stick with it for a bit to get used to the moveset
Upgrade your weapons. Armour isn't so important.
Don't be afraid to summon for help if you get stuck
After beating a boss, leave your summon sign outside the boss room a few times to help other people. You get souls, a reward and it repairs your weapons/replenishes items.
