Dark Souls 2 - Thread

This live in the UK ? Doesn't appear to be atm.
Yep went live sometime this morning. If your having trouble you need to be aware that you need to have the Black Gulch section open as per this guide.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/07/21/how-to-access-dark-souls-2s-new-dlc-in-game/

I had to re-use a save from completing the game once as it would not let me have the item I needed to open the door.

Also some report on Steam you need to remove the DLC by unticking the option then restart Steam & tick the DLC again so it downloads the DLC licence file which is 160 bytes! but the DLC content came last week in the 1GB patch so you need that as well installed & up to date then it will give you a message about the new item in your inventory which is what you need to open the door in Black Gulch.

Spoilers if you do not want to see a later area in the game do not click!

2560x1080 21:9 aspect ratio with Flawless Widescreen played in Steam Offline mode to avoid the possible VAC ban  as fixing the aspect ratio @ 21:9 is classed as a mod apparently

Crown Of The Sunken King DLC

Not the longest DLC ever made for sure its doable in around 1-1.5 hours if you have a strong character. All new enemies though & 3 bosses (although I only found 2 so far). Probably worth the money if your a Dark Souls 1 or 2 fan otherwise wait for a sale unless your a hardcore player there is not exactly a massive amount of new content its just about enough for the cost (1 medium sized new location which has all the usual Dark Souls trademark instant death traps ;) & silly hard gameplay in places).

I would rate it 8/10 if Dark Souls 2 was a 9/10 & Dark Souls 1 was 10/10 ;)

20 quid for the DLC seems like a rip off if the first part can be done in 1.5 hours.
Can be done in 30 mins if you use a trainer & know where to go & what to do.

£20 for 3 x DLC packs though if you take your time probably same as most DLC around 3-4 hours worth all depends on your skill level & how many co-op pals are with you otherwise its a tough slog in places !

I still havent completed the dlc after 3 hours in and I would consider myself an advanced ds player as its the only thing I play (I can speedrun the main game very well and know the routines of all enemies/bosses etc).

Like all ds games if you know what your doing sure 1.5hrs is achievable but certainly not for a first playthough.

Yeah 1.5 hours is only if you have co-op players join you & help otherwise on your own its around 3-4 hours depending on player skill & items you use.

Took me about 4-5 hours on my own & was hard in places plus I never explored every room as some have traps which means you might have to die to escape ;)

For a Dark Souls 2 fan this DLC is a must buy if your not a fan of Dark Souls series then yes I agree £19.99 is probably a little too much even if it is 3 x DLC packs.

Dlc is great soo far! Nice value for money imo, got the pass for £14 at cdkeys

Only problem is my character is on ng++ and some of the enemies are hard!

The first area was fine but the next bit has some challenges, i would prefer going through on base difficulty first like with the base game. Would now mean restarting though. Im sure ill get through it!

DLC2 should be live this evening around 1am like DLC1 was in EU. Just right click DS2 untick the DLC2 licence then close Steam.

Open Steam again right click DS2 & tick the DLC2 licence it will then be playable instantly like DLC1 was provide you have the 1GB update released on Steam yesterday afternoon!
