Dark Souls gameplay discussion - spoilers ahoy!

Nope just use the wiki and fellow forum members knowledge

Wiki? Got the link?

I do have a code for a digital guide but I'm not sure how in depth it is compare to the physical copy. Any one know? But there's also the issue of having to stop playing, go to PC to look for an answer or wait for people on here to respond. Hmmm..

Mine's just been dispatched. I'll tell you tomorrow!

Saw the physical guide in gamestation this morning, it was not a small book. £15 hardback too, was sorely tempted.

It all depends on how much sound you make when you move. If you walk slowly sometimes you can get a free backstab.

I saw on youtube aswell that a guy killed an NPC and got boots of silence, he could walk up on anything and always get a free backstab.

Well obviously, but apparently wearing a shield on your back is quieter than having it equipped.

Just finished Sens Fortress (easier than I was expecting, especially after you get a certain weapon from a certain enemy), the Boss was pathetic, run through his legs when he goes to attack, hit a let till he falls over, rinse repeat.

Anor Londo on the other hand.....nasty place, called it a night when I came across two archers firing what appeared to be Spears at me.

One thing I must say is how amazing some of the armor in the game looks, Gold Hemmed is currently my favourite (helps that it has crazy stats), followed VERY closely by the Crimson set. Favourite heavy set is Eastern, beautiful set.

Just had an....well lets call it interesting invasion, turns out the Fog Ring, which turns you invisible, means you cant be targeted by other players, imagine my surprise when a guy pops into my world, I try to target him, get nothing and proceed to backstabbed and killed in about 5 seconds.

It seems there are a number of incredibly cheesy items and abilities which are both common and easy to use which make PvP something I am now avoiding, such as Greater Magic Shield which makes you invulnerable to everything but dots like bleeding.

On a happier note, I spent some time farming Silver Knights in Anor Londo and got myself a Silver Knight Shield, Sword and Spear + Silver Knight Armor. Silver Knights are utterly destroyed by a shield/spear combo, sword knights just attack every time you block an attack of theirs, they will wipe out your stam but their recovery time from abilities is long enough for me to get back 75% stam before they attack again. Spear knights you have to be a bit more careful with, don't attack when they do a forward thrust as they will block it and do another 2 very quickly.

Much raging was hard trying to down that boss of Arno Londo heh, What a nightmare! Went to catacombs afterwards having put it off and it was a walk in the park, wish I'd gone there earlier now lol.

Did well today, cleared undead parish and gargoyles, and titanium demon or whatever hes called in the sewer by blacksmith, then went on to kill butterfly boss. Can't wait to play tomorrow!

Just beat Ornstein and Smough with the help of a couple of phantoms, was still a very tough fight, don't really want to imagine what it would be like alone, I'm SL53 ish now, got the Lord Vessel and planning on heading back to the Asylum next.

However nice the game guide is isn't praising a game on it's difficulty then buying a game guide a bit strange! Especially on a game that prides itself on it's trial and error :).

With a game as big, confusing and hard as this, more information can only make the game more enjoyable. I don't want to resort to looking on the internet, I want something close to hand and the book is lovely.

are most of you fellas getting through the bosses with help from others? I am struggling stuck between gargoyles/butterfly/capra demon but have no live sub atm. Whi9ch of these would be the easiest to take on on my own lvl 23 knight who doesnt wear armour lol i have drake sword and am good with shield but nothing ranged im ok with shortbow but only do 20ish damage to butterfly per large arrow.

If you go Human form, you can normally summon NPC players to help fight with you on the bosses right before you enter the white mist.
