Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

Only a few hours into this and yeah its hard lol. With the DSfix though it does look pretty good... Im kind of imagining how a next gen dark souls would look... I know dark 2 souls is out soon but its only a ps3 and xbox game and mostly likely the PC version will just be a better textured and higher res version of those...A true next gen dark souls with maybe the Deep Down graphics engine would be incredable.

They'd be retarded to put in GFWL regardless, isn't it getting removed sometime this year? Also it took me 4 hours to get the bloody game to work because of GFWL and xlive.dll.

NG+ and my god, Ornstein and Smough again! i swear all the other bosses were easier then these combined! Still rocking the Zweihander +15, someone suggest a better weapon in a similar vein :D

Man-serpent Greatsword if you insist on sticking with heavy weapons. I'd switch to a lighter weapon in all honesty but that depends on your stats. What are you Strength and Dexterity stats?

Just finished my first run through of this last week. 45 hours of pain.

Then i realised i had missed the DLC so had to start NG+. Fortunately i've made it to the DLC in <6hours so thats a bonus. Seems hard though!

I hyped for DS2 but get the impression it will never be as hard as the original. It'll need to mix it up a bit if it is.

My first play took like 50 hrs! But second time im near the end at 18hrs, its crazy how much smoother the game flows when you have learnt from that first play!

Apparently the dlc is hard to miss, where is it? I have the prepare to die version on pc for this second playthrough

what the hell lol!

so im in dukes atm, i guess i havent missed it! once in the dlc, can you warp in and out at will?

*also since last playing ive cancelled xbox live, when i try to play dark souls it says its been reverted to silver (fine) but Live privilages have been blocked? dont ltell me i need gold for this?

I played a fair amount over the weekend and im ready for the last boss so will go through the dlc area now! Seems good so far!

Sorcery is soo powerful feels like easy mode atm, on ps3 4 kings gave me a **** load of hassle as it took a while to kill each one so eventually had to deal with all 4 whereas here on my pc run as a sorcerer i had a good 5-10 seconds between each king of just running around in the Abyss waiting :P

Bed of chaos and that whole area is still the worst laziest part of the game, it just feels unplanned or unfinished compared to the rest. Just a rushed dull area tbh

Hello everyone! Ages ago, someone off this forum played coop with me and ran me through the game from Sens Fortress on. I was eternally greatful! We got up to Anor Londo (think that's the name) but due to time I didn't progress from there. I love this game, easily one of my faves. Yet it really annoys me how little I've played!

So, I will do the usual bosses I know, but has anyone got a guide or know of a video that kind of explains a rough outline of things to do? I do NOT want to skip, I prefer spending HOURS in one location rather than minutes running through it. I like exploring every nook and crannie :)

I'm going for 40 endurance as soon as possible. And trying to play with 2H so I learn to roll properly. My weapon of choice is the Uchigatana which I will then upgrade into the Chaos Blade. I really like the move set of these. Like a ninja! Boom. I might remove the shield entirely...

Anyway, I only had a quick play last night, rushing the start getting all the usual treasures. I've left off right up to the point where I kill the 2 gargoyles. Again, will make mince meat, my Uchi is at +4 already. I started as warrior with master key. Once I've done the gargoyles tonight. I will rush and buy soul arrows from matey boy below fireline shrine. Rush through Darkroot Basin (have I got that right?) to kill the butterfly boss thing.

Once I've done that, I will do lower undead berg to kill Capra (my worst boss, HATE him). And maybe push on through the depths. Which oddly, is one of my favorite areas. I've yet to be caught out by the frogs and I know the area pretty well.

Anyway, Going from that, Sens Fortress maybe... Or Blightown. I'm not sure, Sens it seems is easier than blightown.

I just need a guide that kind of says "this is the natural progression you should take, this is what you should and shouldn't do on face value". I don't need indepth walkthroughs, I like to explore.

Any ideas? Also, thoughts on the above weapon of choice? I will go for 40 endurance first. Then increase my vitality to maybe 30? Then after that work on STR/DEX to 40.

I've NEVER dabbled in magic in the game further than playing the pyro class previously with lesser and greater soul arrows to defeat annoying bosses such as the butterfly woman.

EDIT: Only just seen this: http://darksouls.wikidot.com/gough-s-greatbow

I need that, my surname is Gough :D
