Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

So, I've stumbled upon an area I've never even heard of or seen before. Beat the butterfly woman. Cool, joined the forest hunter covenant and about to kill the ninja for the ring... Went exploring now I'm in a wood where there is a door with a white slither down it. In that wood, are mushroom men (they have not attacked me. At least the small ones haven't). Go around a little further (right from the special door) and there are like cats or what ever. More to the right is a valley. A bridge and then a staircase fr the bridge. I've not been over there as I don't want to die just yet. What's this area I'm in now and where does that bridge connect up to?

Those two big mushrooms are guarding an Enchanted ember.

Those two big mushrooms are guarding an Enchanted ember.

Something that can come in handy?

I killed Capra in one go last night... Typical, previous night, 6 tries, 6 deaths.

I tip toed into the depths, killed the butcher but then couldn't be bothered and I had to peel my self away from the game.

I don't know why, but I'm much more into it than usual on this time. I'm doing bite sized chunks, all be it small. But bite sized. I'm taking my time yet not worrying about stuff being around the corners.

It's good :D

Also, slowly getting my girlfriend into it... This pretty much sums up my face everytime I play it...

"Look sweety, dragons, you like dragons, go up to it and you can ride the dragon"

"AHHHHH, WTF, DRAGONS DON'T BREATH LIGHTNING!!!"

At Gwynn in NG+, seriously, 15 attempts and the best i can do is 25% of his health, he hits me twice and im dead no matter what armour/rings i have on.....stressing me out :/

I find this hard to believe unless you are running some bizarre magic build with no Vit/End.

Honestly just parry him to death, or if you can't do that wear the Havel/Black Iron set + Flame Stoneplate ring + Black Knight Shield and take no damage.

So, slight problem. I got some time to play so blitzed the depths. Still my favorite area. Got all the loot, got invaded by some dude wearing some spikey armour, put him in his place with ease.

Killed the gaping dragon and then started my venture into Blighttown. Got pretty far, but fell off when trying to make a jump to the loot. So will try and rush it this evening, make the jumps with no souls, grab the loot then worry about working my way through the mobs. Pointless I know, but I NEEEEEED all loot. Bugs me not getting it all.

Anyway, really enjoying it just struggling on time to play.

Question, my sword. It's a Uchigatana +5, I want to +6 it then go to +10, eventually going to Chaos Uchigatana. I have the large ember, and I have 1 or 2 large titanite chunks. Is it worth me bolting back to the smithy to +6 or shall I just progress on?

Thanks

Definitely just press on, as once you complete Blightown you need to go back to where the blacksmith is anyway (and Blightown is a pain to get in/out of).

Oh yea, forgot to actually voice my problem...

Solaire or what ever he is called, never summoned him before, did so for the gaping dragon for a laugh. He died :( Does that have an impact on my game?

No, not at all since the summons are only phantoms.

Sweet, kind of felt bad as he was being pummeled and I was just minding my own business. I did however notice I was doing VERY little damage to the gaping dragon. Took me a fair few swings to kill her. Easiest boss I've encountered though, that and the gargoyles lol.

Mind you, only ever been up to Anor Londo.

Tonight, I will try and tackle the rest of Blighttown and maybe kill Quelaag, I have only fought her once before (coop however, I did nothing!). I also have no purple moss left to remove poison or what have you from the swamp... Maybe I should buy a tonne from the vendor near firelink?

If it's your first time through then I'd suggest getting some yes. You can beat her easily without removing the poison but it adds an extra level of difficulty to a fairly difficult fight. When you've done the game a couple of times she's really quite easy but I do remember how intimidating and tough she was the first time I killer her solo!

I think I will just make my life easier and buy some. And sort my weapon out to +6 at the same time.

Is it worth me using the short cut into Blighttown (down by the cliff side entrance near the garden). Or will I miss a few things?

This is and isn't my first play through, from this point on, I've not done it solo. So yea, even though I've racked up 50 hours on the 360 and 40 hours now on the PC. It's my first solo playthrough from here on out lol.

Nooooooooooo, so I died in the depths/blighttown. I got as far as getting to where the lift is. I went up, then went into the area where lot's of people shoot darts. Then died in there. I rested at the bonfire at the start on the concrete bridge sort of thing.

Anyway, guess I have to slowly make my way back down again as I didn't light the bonfire near by. But I did get all of the treasure. Sadly, lost 3 humanity and 25k souls :(

Got invaded but killed them.

Should have spent the souls as soon as you had a bonfire! I learned the hard way when I tried to hoard mine. :p

I know, I died, and thought "ef it, I will rush back there and grab them and homeward bone thingy". I made it 5 foot from the bonfire and got rushed. Died again, called it a night there.

I like the area though! It's so indepth and it's like a maze. Superb layout and level design.
