I never moaned about the GTA 4 port (not that you said I did), I have always had a system to run it. GTA 4 on the PC is the best version you can get, it just needs a meaty machine compared to console specs. So on that note it would be classed as a bad port I guess, but I love it on the PC. I also love Ninja Blade, another From Software game :)

Being a great game means everything, only downside is it needs a pad, but again that don't bother me.

Just because it is a bad port doesn't make it a bad game though. Imo both GTA IV and Dark Souls are still far superior to the console versions.
 
I didn't mean the game was cack earlier, I meant the port. All I'm saying is if you look in this forum section you see comments like "its just a console port" for other games and some PC owners (me included) moan that theres no improvements in graphics ect. But this game people seem not to care. I know gameplay is the main thing but surely graphics ects count for something. And wouldn't the gameplay be just that bit better with no slowdown?

Not sure what you mean here, PC version has no slowdown, now this was not done by the devs it just so happens pure PC grunt gets by this. So the PC version or at least mine sits at 30/29 all the time. Unlike the consoles dipping to 15. This also has the high res fix, so it even looks better then the consoles now. Blight Town on the PC is a pleasure :)

This game is really unique, no other game is anything like it at all, which is why it gets by not having any extras, the game itself is just amazing. Wish other games came close

EDIT: Also on this thread the game was ripped apart for being a console port, but most of those had never played the actual game itself, now those people have played it and see what a real gem it is, the moaning has pretty much stopped.

EDIT 2: Just to add on Dark Souls co-op/summoning is pretty sucky, can't remember how it was on consoles, not sure if it will get a patch. I think the problems are that some people don't have the GFWL ports open which this game seems to need.

Uh I just found my third firekeepers soul upon entering blighttown so rushed back to spend it and the firekeeper was dead. Can't even rest at the camp above now.

Anyway to fix this? Haven't checked but hope not all bonfires are unusable for me....

I think the main difference is the developers down and out said it was going to be a basic console port, with no additional optimisation. So noboddy was really let down when that is what they got.

It's just that one that gets put out, **SPOILER** the only way to avoid this is to kill Lotrec either after you free him or before. You can rekindle that bonfire by killing him and his guards to get the Soul back, but it'll be the standard level bonfire and can't be upgraded iirc.

iirc you kill him in Anor Londo, it's been several months since I played last but I'll have a quick look.

EDIT: Ah that was it, you use the Black Eye Orb you got from the woman's corpse in that hallway before the Ornstein and Smough fight.
