Oh god yeah, I dont like official PC pads, has to be 360 or ps3. They both got it right, just use whatever you are used to. Although PC games normally have 360 prompts. Unsure if that changes with a PS3 pad plugged in.
 
It made me smile the other day when I was putting my votes in for Golden Joystick awards and "Defeatring Oristein and Smough for the first time" was in their moments of the year category
 
I'm finding the 360 pad very useful In Dark Souls for smashing myself in the head with after dying for the 1000th time!:rolleyes::p

Loving the game though, I'm just very bad at it!:o But will persevere, it's too damn good to give up on. First time in years I've been so immersed in a game that time just evaporates, started last night around 10 pm, next thing I know it's 5:20 am!:eek:
 
Bad time to decide to go exploring when I just used up all my humanity... Went exploring those ghosts at the start of the game and about 8 of them came through the floor and killed me. Tried to find my way back to reclaim and got surrounded again in a different part and my curse ran out as I was fighting and didn't realise and quickly died again.... urg

Better go farm some rats

Seriously anyone who has done this, it should be their moment of the past decade, i'm guessing nothing has come close to that feeling because games are so easy now days :(

I am still awaiting that feeling however each death is going to make all the more satisfying when I do it :D

You can kill him in about 5 hits.

Just run to the end of the area (where it starts) then all the way back to the start again, without paying attention to him, just run. Then at the start he does a jump attack and leaves his hand in front of you for about 10 secs, just attack the crap outta it and he dies! :D

Have you tried luring him into an attack while you're hiding in the alcove to right of the stairs leading to the fight? You can easily avoid his attacks in there and then beat him when his arm is down.
 
Just bought this on Steam. Can't wait to get stuck in! Played this a while ago when I had my xbox and loved it, can really see myself sinking an unhealthy amount of time in to this. Just need to decide what sort of character to make now..
 
Thanks for advice on ceaseless guys, I will give it a try later today...after work.
Dammit I hate being stuck at work when there is a great game waiting for me at home. At least ocuk aint blocked.
 
I think I've grinded the forest garden too much am level 56 and only finished the undead burg and parish, I can only summon or join others within +\- 15% of my level, have I over levelled and broke my character by not being able to summon for the tougher boss fights ?

Well you should really be powerful enough to take down most things yourself at your level, but I think you way over did it and I doubt you will be able to see any signs. I could be wrong though, I still have much to learn myself. There is a level guide posted a page back that shows you what level you should be for each area. If you are to powerful for the area you will not see any signs at all.
 
DSfix 0.7 is up.

This release adds 2 new features :

* Save game backups: backs up the saves at regular intervals. The maximum number of stored backups can also be set. I implemented this since I almost lost my save while testing. The minimum interval is set fairly high to discourage people from using this to cheat death.

* Intro skipping. NOTE: the way this is implemented is completely insane. It works for me, but I can’t guarantee that it won’t set your computer on fire. Just turn it off if you experience problems.

Awesome! I got my Xbox 360 wired controller for the tiny wood place and three days early ;), at only £1.50 a week for 20 weeks too :D

Wish OCUK did weekly payments like that :(
