Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

Started from Blighttown last night, rang the bell and made it up to the ceaseless discharge. Only died from the ceasless once then spanked him by just rolling away from that insane fire attack. Took ages to kill his arm since I was doing like 50 dmg per strike. then I went downstairs and got utterly owned by those massive monsters. Guess I'm too low level for this area.

Anyone know fo a good 1h sword to use? Sick of the Astora's stright sword 3+ since I've been on it since the start and not found anything better. My elite knight armour is +9 already.

The Astora is pretty pants to be fair. Only good thing for it is it
kills Skeletons underground without having to kill those black robed things, otherwise the skeletons just keep coming back to life :)
The Black Knight sword rocks, and can be found early in the game. It is best 2 handed but still whacks a hefty punch one handed with a shield.

You having trouble wielding the black knight sword ? Thought you needed 30 strength to start getting the best out of it.

Nah, in fact I think it only needs 14 strength from memory. It is a proper beast, I made sure I had the right requirements it needed. Kills almost everything with a fast strike in one hit lol apart from bosses that is.

EDIT: 20 Str and 18 Dex needed.

I have the black knight's halbred and shield. The helbred costs 32 Str to use. Currently got 28... Can use it with 2 hands but it's really heavy.

I've got the lightning spear and +5 katana from blighttown... pretty crappy weapons to use at the mo..
 
So guys, I heard a lot about how this was a terrible port (I loved it on PS3 even though I hated my PS3).

I've seen it got some really good reviews, is there any problems with gameplay due to the bad port or was it just the Anti-port police?
 
Just load up the res fix mod, plug a game pad in and it's great. Probably even better then the console versions due to the true 1080p res and pure grunt of the pc pushing through the blighttown slowdown.

Anyone know where I'm supposed to go now. I've got to Anor londo and one path is blocked by a yellow light saying I shall not pass and the other way is a dead end, down the cork-screw lift.

Remember curved swords are dexterity based weapons, without high ded they won't be very useful. Apparently elemental weapons were nurfed for the pc release, the lightning spear is an awesome weapon on the console version. High damage, low stat req and it can be sexier from behind a shield.
 
Hmmm think I stumbled across my first proper cheater/hacker whilst doing some co-op, I've made another character that i want to be a Dark Wraith with, I'm level 15 with him at the moment and was sumoning people for the Sif battle, I summoned a guy who had a mixture of the Ornstein and Artorias set, but was one handing the Dragon Great Axe which needs 50 Strength, and he had a Tower shield but was rolling with ease. At one point running through the forest he started shooting Giant Soul arrows as well so his intelligence must have been pretty high.

There's no way he could have had the right stats at at my level range, I also seem to be seeing more and more people who can take shed loads of damage and take me down in one or two hits. I fear for this game once the script kiddies start showing up :/

Oh and when you get to the later areas of the dlc the invasions are constant, the other night I rested at a fire, did reverse hollowing, and somebody invaded just as my animation of praying at the fire had finished :mad:
