Dashcams!

Just saw this on Youtube and had to share:


How did the van only see it till it was nearly too late? Messing on his phone? Half asleep? We'll never know, but how he managed to miss it, I don't know.

Good job there was no one in the middle lane.
 
Wow that was indeed close..

I can understand why the camera car might not have dropped back immediately since the Van was being a bit inconsiderate where he pulled in, but luckily the camera car started to ease off and increase the gap just in time, I think had he kept the same initial gap he'd not have avoided it!

This is the one thing that really puts me off dashcams, even though half of me would love one (especially on my cycle, no matter how considerately I cycle to work, I've had a few close shaves with some crazy people), it does seem to attract the kind of people that like to make a 'point' out of how bad other peoples driving is, but usually it backfires as everyone points out all the poor decisions they tend to have made themselves..

Also you don't need wifi, my 0806 uses a 16Gb card and when its full , it re writes over again, if anything happens, I just take the card out and download to my PC
or when I check to make sure everything is still working fine
 
So, another "what to get someone for xmas" question, looking at £150 or so for my old mans van. Whats the best for that sort of money?

Looking at a Nextbase 402-G unless someone can suggest better.

It was more for a friend to see, they never told me i was getting a refurb box, i had to wait over a month for this gearbox from Renault in France.

Making assumptions about my driving, they didn't know i only bought the car a month earlier, 1 week when i first took it in to Renault.

Nothing to major, just found it funny they don't realise they're being recorded, it's a fully visible cam G1W-H.
