Dashcams!

Fills both 128GB cards. Might turn off the motion detection and turn off auto power off and just let it record.

If you look at the comments on the mini0806.com website it seems I'm not the only one.
I remember reading somewhere the dual-slot recording doesn't work properly on the 0806. Try with just the one card in slot B FreeStream.

Also where did you buy yours from? Is it version 3?

Has anyone with an 0805 (or 01/03/06, assuming they use exactly the same mount) noticed that the red 'charging' light flickers because of seemingly poor contact to the GPS/charging base? It does seem a bit wobbly.

It doesn't seem to affect its operation at all, but I feel I should sort it. I guess I just need to make the camera>base fit a bit tighter.
I vaguely remember reading about this also. The connection gets looser over time. Can't remember if there was a recommended fix - probably need to jam something in.

Parking mode isn't included on the last firmware, only thing that is on is motion detection which is on high.

It must be a internal counter or something that runs out after a period of time, plugged it back in this morning and it is working fine again now its reset.

eBay. Says version 3 and came with the latest firmware from May.

Card switching works though, both cards get used.

turn motion detection to OFF

I set that this morning, so we will see how it does now.

Still zero issues with the 0806 for me, been nothing but reliable. I do casually glance at the red LED every now and then to make sure it's working :p

Only 1 slot, and yes to hard wired.

Though now I made that above post, yesterday I noticed the cam was off

Seems I might have had a corrupted file system on the SD card, as when I last used it on the PC, Windows asked if I wanted to scan it for errors or continue. I continued and later formatted it in the camera and it's been fine since.

So keep an eye on the SD card file system I guess!

I'd like to set up my mini 0806 to detect slight knocks but I know you can't becuase the camera then doesent re write over the files , as I work in a supermarket my car is parked in the customer car park and my mate at work has just had a dent on his car.

The battery won't last long at all. The 0806 etc have built in batteries, but they last minutes...

Just hard wire it and tuck the cable into the windscreen recess so it's invisible.

How did you hard wire yours in the e46? I'm looking to get one in mine

Find the socket on the fusebox for your car that is empty and is live on ignition and use a fuse tap then crimp the wires to a 12v pre-wired lighter socket into the glovebox. On my car fuse socket 4 was unused, and live on ignition. Yours may be different. Then just route the brown wire (ground) into an existing ground point. I used the little torch charging point wire that comes with all E46s, just securely ram the ground cable into the brown wire hole where that goes in and job done.

You can then tuck the cable into the seals around the end of the dash and up through the rubber strip and windscreen recess with a plastic ruler.

End result:

Thanks mrk you're always a great help when I ask! :)

No prob! I assume you have some spare fuses lying around too, so be sure to use those on the fuse tap. Strangely mine needed 2 fuses in there to work, even though nothing was piggybacking off it. Ah well.

I did read this too just now on another website that you need two fuses, maybe to complete the circuit?
Would 10A fuses do?
