Dashcams!

you need to hardwire them in
mines not hardwired, but its hidden still as I have a fuse wire loop

If my only option is to leave it plugged into the 12v or the USB, how do I at least hide the wire? Seems pointless to buy a discreet camera when it's obvious you have one with the wire hanging from the rearview :p

On most cars it easy to hire a wire up in the roof lining by just carefully pushing it in as you route it to the A pillar. Once there just pull the door rubber away from the trim and route it down there to run under the dash to either glovebox socket or main power socket. There is no need to have wires showing unless you do not have 10minutes to spare.

I don't want to be pulling out rubber or pushing things into where they shouldn't go. It's a lease car I can't risk damage see

how are you supposed to hide a wire when you wont "hide" it anywhere?

I'm asking how do people hide it as in keep it from just hanging down from the window. I can't hard wire it or risk damage by tucking it in to places but maybe some people have other suggestions? Sticky pads or something?

First time I've managed to use the camera today.

Not sure how interesting this is, but the silly bugger in this Fiat 500 didn't indicate on a roundabout and nearly got a UPS truck in their side.

My 0805 screen has now died, came back to it with a corrupted screen.

Shame, if it was built properly and the twin cards worked it be excellent, instead it is utter rubbish.

Had the same on my 2nd one. The first just totally died.

Great when they work but not worth the hassle.

Seems like a couple of sites had warnings up about them the last time I looked too.

Its quite a harsh environment when you think about it, big swings in temperature, long hours of use, big changes in humidity, and a fair amount of vibration.I think that's why it might actually pay to go for the more expensive ones.
They seem to have a better repair/replace system. Even my more expensive Blackvue was playing up, but I got it replaced quickly from the UK distributor.
Not sure the mini 805 types have the same sort of service.

mini 0805 still running fine here.
Left it on for over a week last week as it has permanent supply and I forgot to unplug it. Flattened the car battery. :o
(lights were on too so it was more likely the lights flattening the battery than the dashcam)
No issues yet, had it since Beginning of Feb this year.

THIS is what dashcams should be used for....

Not goading and baiting people for profit..

What a complete douche, overtaking on double whites, in the dark, in the rain, while it was obvious there was a stream of traffic Coming in the other direction.
Could have wrecked many many lives there.
No idea where it was taken but on the left so UK, Malta or Australia.. wait, it's lashing down.. It's definitely the UK :D

What the hell was he thinking, absolutely insane!

I'm considering buying one for work but as I'm in and out of different vehicles it would have to be a relatively robust model even if the image quality isn't quite as brilliant as some of those posted on this thread. Are there any decent tough models out there?

Probably Dead or very seriously injured as one of the cars hits him dead on the driver door/apillar. Idiot!

Be careful out there at the moment peeps, there are a lot of people in the "Its xmas and I cant be bothered to drive sensibly or carefully" mood. I have seen people pull a 180 in the road with a lorry behind them, no indication or anything. People trying to push out into moving traffic and almost causing accidents, cutting up with children in the car, people not indicating, silly overtaking and tailgating etc etc. And that was all in the last couple of days.
