Dashcams!

Hello

My DDPai M6 turned up today, i can not seem to get into the settings, to turn the stupid voice off.... my phone can see the camera, but when i try and get into setting it just keeps saying network failed, using an LG G4

thanks

Are you connecting to its wifi? I had to connect to it through the wifi settings the first time.

Also, have you updated it before doing anything?

If you have the same issue as me then you need to turn off mobile data -3g/4g so that the wifi is the only connection available.

Superstar :D thanks, i thought something was interfering with it, i tried deleting my other wifi details so it could only connect to the camera :D

Just hard-wired in a Rexing V1. Under £50 including the wiring kit and memory card.
It's spot on. Couldn't justify paying any more at this time for a dash cam.

Just gone for the Rexing V1, a little bit more expensive then above and doesn't include the hard wire kit.

I'll give it a go first before I purchase the kit. Though that said, I'll most likely need some guidance on how to do it :)

I used to he well into my ICE stuff when i was younger so have plenty of experience routing cables through cars. Unfortunately i'm just too lazy/busy these days to bother doing it myself but its not that difficult reallt. Pull off some rubber sills on the side of the doors and simply wire through the roof.

I was looking ar RAC too, they just use a generic installation company thats nearby you to do.it. I wouldal have questioned his ability to do his job in this case though bud!! Rubbish that he didnt know how to wire something from the front of the car to the back, hardly rocket science.

I was the same, I has had installed electric windows, central locking, extra speakers, replaced speakers, wired in a decent car alarm ( no snap / crimp connectors used at all ) in to wiring loom. All the above ( except speakers ) wired in to the fuse box and some with separate fuses.

Now I just do not have time or energy as I need the car for commuting to work. So if any thing goes wrong I need it to work for the next day. This reliance on travel has put me off doing any DIY wiring projects.
I really want to put in a rear reversing camera. This does need some loom wiring and VGA unit wired into he cars SatNav monitor.

Thinkware only recommend their memory cards. I tried to upgrade mine in my F750 and all 3 cards I bought didn't work. I contacted Thinkware and they said that they don't support other cards and can't guarantee they work.

Have you got a link to the card you used?

Righto bud, somethings defo not right with this samsung 64gb car i bought for my F770. Every 3-4 days the.unit doesnt respond until about 1minute after settibg off and gives the following audible error:
MEMORY CARD ERROR, SYSTEM IS REBOOTING.

Looks like its bqck to the drawing board. Will try the sandisk one i have in my phone at somepoint.

Thanks for the update, let me know how your replacement one goes.

Think the CPU's are the same in the F770 and the F750 - not 100% sure though bud.

The F50 is basically the same sort of camera, missing the GPS functions and all the other ADLW bumpph.

Possible option for those looking for cheaper more reliable cams than the unbranded chinese/korean offerings.

Thinkware F50 launched recently here too chaps:

http://www.thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/F50

Seems to have the same CPU as the F750 - without all the extra gubbins so should be quite good and reliable. Supports Parking Surveillance Mode too if hardwired - ~£75

I had a look at that and it looked great initially as I really can't decide which camera to get.

Then reading further you need to buy an external GPS receiver for it and I really want a unit that is small and compact :(

Will probably end up with a Nextbase unit.
