Dat beard

Thanks to this thread I have learned exactly what beard oil is for... and now I want some!

I've been bearded for about 15 years now, but in the past few years my skin has gotten really bad and beardruff is a bit of a nightmare.

Time to get all oiled up!

Any brush recommendations? I'm nearly a month and a half into growing mine and have decided to keep it.

Edit: Surely this should be the Manly Beard Thread and we remove the manly from the shaving thread? :p

We need a database of oils/balms/brushes to be able to edit so that people can see who uses what and recommends which ever brand etc.

I really need a brush! Got a beard comb but not a brush.

Agreed! OP would you be able to set something up? Or perhaps a Google Sheet with what people are using? :D:D:D
or am I getting ahead of myself? :)

I wish mine grew better than it actually does. I used the beard oil Agnes posted on the first page for a while and it essentially just made my skin oily without actually doing anything for my beard

Crappy photo due to a smashed phone screen over the front facing camera :(

May invest in one of those kent brushes and some beard balm :)

Love some of the beards in here :D

I just get bored and twist the moustache at work :p almost long enough to get a decent curl now.

I've been bearded for almost a decade now, but rarely let it grow to it's full potential since it gets out of control and anytime I've tried any oils or creams I've ended up with nasty follicular infections.

Mainly keep it at a tidy length now and tidy up the neckline once a week. Also got a new job last week after going to the interview fully bearded, NEVER shaving it off again for interviews.

Oh, and it's ginger.

my mates got beards its like some new fad trend, its so camp i dont get it all this beard wax/oil and daily trimming and combing. what has this world come to....

Also ages them by 10 years and from what im told girls dont like them.

"He might be good looking if he shaved that beard off" was the most common thing I heard women say about bearded hipsters.

Ditto - loads more attention now I have a beard. In fact the most common thing I've heard is that clean shaven makes people look like a child.

Google military boar hair brush amazon, that's the one I use. The only bad thing is boar hair can smell a bit when damp.

Oh gawd...

Short beards look ok, but long beards add 5-10 years to your actual age IMO. Who wants to look older than their actual age?! They also remind me of overgrown pubic hair....

Step 1) Look your age.
Step 2) Grow a beard.
Step 3) Shave it off.
Step 4) Everybody comments on how young you look.

Repeat. :)

Have had a beard for 7 years now and maybe done a clean shave twice in that time, never getting rid of it! :p I look 10 years younger without it i.e. baby face :(

I keep mine relatively well trimmed using the "9" setting on this:

Got some of this last week:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Men-Rock-So...TF8&qid=1423671684&sr=8-2&keywords=beard+balm

Not bad, it smells a bit weird at first but after a day or two, I really like it now, not sure if it makes the beard look in better condition yet.... but it definitely feels softer.

Whenever that runs out, I am going to get this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beard-Oil-C...TF8&qid=1423671684&sr=8-4&keywords=beard+balm

ATM I just use a wide tooth comb but might buy a proper brush!
