Less Armies... Vanilla DoW had 4, give this 3 expansions and see how its doing.
Ok, so I can kind of accept this, but still coming from 9 armies to 4 is a bit of a let down.
Less Units... There are pretty much as many as vanilla DoW, you have to be a certain hero to gain access to certain types and there is the same specialization just now less variation.
Wrong, there are far less than vanilla DoW let alone the expansions, probably 5 or 6 less for each army. And considering how many units were missing in DoW, this is a HUGE let down.
Less Options... Wargear...
That is just for heroes, where are the customization options? Space marine tactical squads are meant to be the versatile troop, yet I can give them 1 plasma gun, flamer or missile launcher? in DoW they could have up to 4 from a choice of flamer, plasma gun, heavy bolter or missile launcher
Less Units on Screen... they made it clear from the very first information outing on this that it would be small scale and tactical, you've had a year to come to terms with this.
Small amounts of units is fine by me, but small squads is ridiculous and totally inaccurate to the source material. Ork mobz are meant to be 20-40 strong, tactical squads 5-10, not THREE people.
Less Maps... uh, you mean from the 5 in the beta? there will be more on release.
It was mentioned earlier in the thread that this is all the maps (although there will be two free DLC maps on release) I hope to god this is wrong because it's a joke otherwise
Less Game Modes... Victory points are all you need.
Are you kidding? Where is the variation? Victory points gets pretty dull after a while.
Less Combat Animations... you serious? the main limitation of the engine DoW used was the animations, Essence engine gives units thousands of animations.
Read the rest of the posts, there are far less kill animations, in DoW there were loads and they were part of what made the game so great, see this vid:

No Base Building... Again, announced a year ago where they were taking the game, plus it works well without... if you're into lining up buildings in a pretty order or chopping down trees theres plenty of other games to cater.
Yes we knew about it, but its still disappointing. You should be able to build small advanced bases around key points (I know you can build a few things with some characters) at the moment the game is like a game of hide and seek because requisition points are so easy to cap and uncap.
