***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Just to clarify; the OcUK server carries gear over like the other servers or not? And it's public like most other servers?

I still totally disagree about the price Dg - As I said in my post a page or two ago there are almost no games in existence that have successfully increased in price over time (except minecraft, which we all know was a crazy runaway success, and started out under £10)?

Arma 3 increased it's price over time... started out £19.99 in alpha, increased to £29.99 in beta and then increased again on full release to £39.99.

Yes mate, it is on the public hive.

Be aware though, that DB wipes do happen from time to time, and being in Alpha, there is no guarantee that you respawn with your kit.

Guys, still lagging?

Just read back the last page sorry. Plenty of you have me on steam, just drop me a message and I will restart server if needed.

34 players on server just now, so I presume it is working ok at the moment. Plus server restart is around 11:50pm.

Guys is the OCUK server any good and has anyone experienced any script hacks etc?

I purchased the game the other night but found myself running around for ages without coming across any other live players...

Does this game play in real time?

So if i have stuff available, it can be taken while im not active?

No, it plays in real time with regards to the day/night cycle (GMT-5) I think. But when your toon logs off you disappear from the server instantly - which is where server hoppers and combat loggers get their name.

The game has perma-death, each time you die you start with nothing other than a few clothes, torch and battery. The more you play the less and les downtime you have until reasonably equipped though as you 'learn' where the better loot is.

I stand corrected, but you've got to admit it's hardly a common thing that you'd expect many games to be able to execute...

Also I don't believe Arma 3 will now stay at £39.99 permanently either (Arma 2 came down in price eventually)

arma 3 isnt selling that's why it will drop unlike dayz which has sold really well.

That just means that they've already made a bunch of cash selling DayZ and that a lot of the people who definitely wanted it already picked it up... I'm failing to see how that guarantees an ever-increasing price with no possibility of it staying put or falling? It's not like the people who already own it are going to buy it again

played on the ocuk server yesterday, didnt have any problems, meet a couple of people which resulted in no deaths, i was suprised, currently just arrived at the powerplant, after a long loop in the wilderness, its an addictive game and hopefully meet up with a few of you. kinda gets a tad boring on your own. :)

You can't compare A3 to DayZ SA. Arma 3 is well worth every penny for all it's content (not DayZ related) and at this point in time a far better version of DayZ. Only reason I stopped playing the A3 version is because I hate the map. But for performance/content A3 wins every time on every level. It also looks 100 times better, but DG will come along and fanboi his SA with Rocket :)
