***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

The update is even worse for me, I get the desync but its not even telling me its desync and the next thing i know ive been attacked by zombies and dripping with blood. Early this morning I was running along and the screen goes grey a few times, then i'm dead

Its become a bit disheartening building up your player to know you could lose it anytime.

Add the fact it take ages to get on server. :(

I died randomly last night and lost a couple of characters previous to that, the issues are however well known, I've posted a few times about them in this thread also. Therefore you should only play at the moment if you accept the risks that any gear you get could go in a blink of an eye. Which is a good way to play anyways, getting attached to gear or characters isn't really what the game should be about.

I agree with you there Speed, although I have been in that situation where I played for a good few hours with my brother got all kitted up. We had a good run, helped someone out. Stole another guys tuna since we lost our food.

Another situation we had was we were on our way back to the city and noticed a guy running round in a field so hid in the bushes to let him loot...little did we know that he had a friend covering him. So we sat and stalked them without sights on them in case they tried anything funny because we didn’t want to engage them (we are too nice sometimes) we got spotted and we gave them a warning to carry on as they are. He pulled a gun on us so we shot them down and looted them.

We got lazy and tried eating the food we stole from a guy out in the open, I take it a group of people watched us tie him up. Then Bang! my brother was down so I legged it, then I was down :(

Not bothered because now I get to start again and find new stuff and different route. You got to remember that this game is still in alpha so there will be bugs and its not a fully working game as you would suspect with a game that has been released officially

Personally i think this game is awesome, yes its in alpha but its so different from anything else out there right now without needing to buy other games

It is far more enjoyable with you play with a team of people and get into little gun fight situations, your heart really does start racing.
When they bring out a few more guns and some vehicles the game will turn into a real survival game.

If anyone wants to play just send me a message on here! or hit me up on steam! - OMGAdz :)

Needs fix asap - they are killing the community without it

We supported them, time for them to step up and support us

Basically 2 nights lost so far... no fix in today and we lose the weekend as well

If you bought and moved in to a house before they had finsihed building it would you complain about missing doors etc , knowing they hadn't finished building it?

Well no you wouldn't... but when you buy a new house you only agree to hand over the money up until the house is completely finished to the standard set out on the plans... Only at that point does the full agreed price change hands... They do it this way to protect the buyer, so they can't be totally ripped off if the builder deviates from what was promised or never ends up delivering it at all

Your analogy is still true - people knew it was unfinished and shouldn't complain so much. But if we're going the route of "if you did X, you wouldn't do Y" then I think another apt comparison here is "If you were buying a house you wouldn't expect to be charged for it up front"... In fact in an analogy to DayZ-SA you wouldn't have even seen the precise bluprints for your house, just the vague scribblings of a half-competent amateur on the back of a fag-packet. If you paid up-front the builder could just get overwhelmed and decide to run off with your money and leave you with a half finished mess

feels like arma3 in the last few months got more stuff added than dayz:sa has had since launch lol... amazingly some of them were even vehicles :P

they should swap the dev teams around and remake dayz:sa in arma 3 :(

i actually uninstalled SA today.

cant be doing with the work rate and excuses.

ill stick to breaking point,2017, plus others on arma 3 now.

hopefully dayz sa dev team can pull their fingers out their asses and get it done in a decent time frame while player base is still strong.

Yeah.

Basically I know its Alpha, look at my posts through this thread ive backed the devs to the hilt, but this patch (Alpha or not) has made the game unplayable and unstable.

Now they either fix that and make it playable or roll it back until they can fix it - pretty simple.

IF they said, this is Alpha, give us 20 quid but you cant play the game until say August... i wouldnt have ponied up. But it has been playable and still should be given the funds they have got.

Comparing it to a house is about as useful as your **** on a stick.

Someone report him for mentioned ARMA 3 and breaking point in the dayz standalone thread. :D

Great news maybe the rest of us in here can get on like Adults now.

Erm, old news. Went up Wednesday. ;)

And cocked it up big time :D

In more recent news, they've got a Hotifx up on Experimental for testing tonight that should fix the massive lag/desync issue that's plaguing Stable. If all goes well they'll try to deploy the Hotfix tomorrow (Saturday).

First time on for a couple of weeks yesterday evening.

Half an hour into it with my friend in Elektro and I take a look inside the new police station, as I walk about I hear someone over mic but just carry on exploring as all I have is an axe. I run out of the front door of the police station and run on top of someone as there's some steps out the front. Guy has a gun and I instantly think "I'm in Elektro, he has a gun, I'm dead". Turned out to be a friendly Russian guy who asked if I needed anything (I kind of did, but just wanted to be on my way with no aggro) and I said no, he walked off. I was stunned.

A bit more exploring trying to find food in the houses and I come across a guy crouched in a corner on the first floor of a house. I call out to him, I get no response, see he has a load of gear, but leave him and wait for my friend to come along as he has an M4a1. Show my friend where this guy is and we both spend a few minutes trying to get a response before I move in and try to handcuff him. The game gives me a message along the lines of "There is nothing there" (can't remember exactly as I was pretty tired). Check the pulse of the person and they're called "Unknown Entity". Me not being a seasoned player checks the player list, no-one there with that name.. odd. Decide to kill.. it and check the loot. Pristine M4a1 with loads of attachments for it, loads of ammo for it and ammo for other guns (ammo box with something stupid like 8x 60 Mosin rounds). Take all of that and food and leg it to the east. Soon get shots fired at us as we get next to the coast, so we run back west and hide at the docks. Luckily the update meant that half the people on the server timed out so we decided to risk legging it back where we wanted to go originally.

So now we're both properly kitted out again and now we just wait to get killed again to start all over. That said I have a high suspicion when I next go to play the game I will have lost my character due to looting stuff from someone that wasn't really there

I did read about the Unknown Entity thing afterwards which is quite weird as I haven't seen or heard about it before.
