I've been experimental this evening and it's a mixed bag. Given that it's the first proper navmesh implementation I'm surprised it's working at all.
Things zombies do right:
Navigate correctly around fences, open doors etc.
Navigate correctly inside houses. (I had a moment at the top of a staircase where one slowly crawled around the corner, I may have needed a new pair of pants after that)
Things zombies do wrong:
Hit you through walls (~8ft strike range, I'd guess)
Randomly corkscrew and sink into the ground.
The patch seems good except random stalls from 2 - 10s depending on how quick your computer is and melee against the newly improved zombies seems to be very sketchy, poor hit registration etc. Oh and the melee bug where it stops working after a few strikes has come back in this patch, I guess they'll tweak it over the weekend or something.
