DCS: A-10C Warthog (first screens!)

Nate, can you have a look at another issue I'm having?

I can only reproduce it when dynamic weather is on (6 cyclones) and my g25 pedals are connected. The aircraft will turn either left or right from the instant I un-pause the game. No engines or systems started, no human input on any of the controls. I've had the controls set up like this in BS, in the A-10C beta's and release versions. I've only had this behaviour since putting the 1.1.0.7 patch on, I thought it was my control setup at first but I've cleared all the columns and then loaded settings from the default files but it's made no difference.

3 tracks here, here and here.

All of the tracks were made from a basic mission. Load up the mission editor > new mission > place player controlled A-10C at Nalchik > ramp start (use default parking 04) > dynamic weather on > 6 cyclones > start mission.

Can repost this on Eagle's forums if you want me to, cheers.

Not sure how strong "cyclones 6" is, sounds heavy but as the A10 has no parking brakes that I've read up on, wouldn't that be expected to happen? + Really need wheel chocks command tbh :P

Wind was 0m/s for at least one of them, forgot to check the others to be honest. Dynamic weather is a great feature, Yo-Yo should be given some sort of medal, along with An.Petrovich (even though he jumped ship :p)

Cheers for looking Nate, awaiting 1.1.0.8 maybe with shiny cockpit self-shadowing as well..

Thanks Nate, I have a "contact" in North America so all is good.

That post concerns me though.

They are indicating that Valve stopped the release as they would not sell for the price Eagle wanted to?

Very concerning on Valves behalf as puts them in a bad light in my opinion.

Why agree a U.S and Euro zone price but not just for the UK?

Yeah that's better, I think the American price is cheaper by nearly $10.

I have to say I'm perplexed as to why an agreement couldn't be reached for the UK, why would Steam object to a Developer setting their own price level? Very odd.

On the contrary, I see it as Valve (probably) making a stand for common sense pricing. If their business managers know anything, it's about how to price games to sell.

If BS is still going for £30 after all this time, I think we can guess the kind of money ED wanted. Valve probably weren't interested in hosting for the revenue off half a dozen copies sold.

To be quite honest, despite all these years of following and supporting ED's work, I trust Valve far more than I trust ED's business sense.

I wonder how many that sold? It is a good game though.

I dont think ED would have asked for more than Black Shark, would they?

Actually, Black Shark is only $39.99, A-10c is $59.99 so maybe they did want to sell for too much?

Note that Black shark is going to be upgraded to get all the features of Warthog (Except the A-10 of course) - for free. And will be updated and upgraded with the rest of the series as they arrive. That is why the price is static.

Maybe they did not want to absorb our 20% VAT rate and wanted to pass it onto the customers but Valve would not let them?

Surely they can tell us the exact reason?

Untill then, I smell BS.

It is released in almost every other country.

I am pretty upset as wanted to purchase this, instead I have to go through hoops I shouldnt need to.

Whatever the compromise would have been, do they not consider the UK a big enough market?

I have sent them an email telling them to shove it. Sure, it may seem over the top but it is a disgrace and a terrible reason in my opinion. Sure, I do not neogitiate their contracts but find it VERY hard to understand why the UK on its own would have soo much of a problem.

When was the last time a AAA title did not release on Steam because "agreement could not be made" for the UK territory only?

They have a SKU on Steam so they could sell Steam product keys so we can purchase those directly from ED then activate on Steam. That way everyone is happy and they wont need a UK shopfront presence on the Steam store.
