Nvidia 6800 and will set the playstation 2 up with it in a while, I have to go to Maplins and get some leads etc. I will do it as soon as I can
What leads do you need to get?

I don't want to go home and find I can't connect my X800 XT to it :(

Is it possible to connect the PS2 with component video? I thought it was jsut RF, scart and S-video?

I was going to use S-video, and I'm hoping that it scales the picture well!

I dont have any of the correct leads to carry out any of the tests but I will be getting them on the way home from work tomorrow!!!

I will update you all on what I think....At the moment I'm just messing about with Half Life 2 and Riddick: Escape from Butchers bay.. Installing Far cry too in a little while.. I will get back as soon as I can

Regards

Ok guys, it's all unpacked and set up and I took a photo of it:

Thanks, just discovered it on this very site! Do you have that issue with having to reconnect it each time you reboot?

Btw, did you phone Dell or just place an order from their UK website? How long ago did you order? I might give them a go tomorrow :D

There are no issues with having to reconnect - just set it up once and Windows detects it seamlessley.

I called Dell on the phone on Tuesday as it wasn't on their website and haggled for a better price.

The batteries last quite long, I'd say about 3 months or so. It takes 4x AA batteries and I use rechargeable ones so I don't have to keep buying new ones.

Fuzz, could you please post some gameplay pics? I'm particularly interested in Doom 3 if you've got it - just to get an idea of how the backlight is improved upon the 2005fp.

Cheers :D

Ok sure, I have Doom 3, HL2 etc. most of the games available today in fact.

I will post some pics later on today.

I haven't tried any games yet as I need to install my Plextor & Liteon DVD writers. Once I've done that I will install them and test them out.

Just an idle passing thought, but someone posted more details on the Samsung pixel policy in another thread :

'Zero Bright Dot Warranty' says Zero Bright Dot Warranty(Red, Green, Blue and White)
172X = 0 Bright Dot and 5 Dark Dot.

Now I recall someone else mentioning recently on another board that Samsung now had the technology to 'correct' pixel faults after the initial production of the panel.

I was wondering how that could be achieved, but given the way the policy is described do you think it is possible that they are simply destroying any bright sub-pixels using a laser or some other technique to leave a dark fault rather than a bright fault as that is less noticable?

Cheers, look forward to seeing them!

I was about to buy one of these babies, but somebody on the [H] forums has mentioned the screen has a washed out look compared to his old 2005fpw? Anyone else noticed this?
