If we're thinking the same site (initials LTD?) They have a purposefully awkward returns service. Good luck if you experience any dead pixels as I believe their policy is for you to contact the manufacturer direct and arrange an engineer to inspect the product before accepting that it might have to be returned. This is despite your statutory rights which clearly state it is the sellers issue within the first 30 days minimum.

I'd rather pay the extra £30 and get the no hassle return to Amazon.

Cheers for the heads up

Yep same site cheers :). Downside not in stock till 31st jan.

I ordered from there and only just noticed that :o I told them to cancel it and ordered from Amazon.

Edit:

Got a phone call off them saying they do have them in stock now but i told them to still cancel it after reading what BIIG T said.

I really want this monitor, I need to wait for it to come down to £400-450 to be within my budget though (and that's at a stretch).

Just wait a couple of week until you get the extra 50-100 think it be worth it. Also by that time there might be sales. I took the plunge at £499 think that a decent price every where else is more then 500+

Does anyone with the monitor have the response times set to fast? I changed it but noticed zero difference. According to some forums it creates ghosting but didn't notice that either?

Why is there even a fast mode? What benefit is there to having this on 'normal'?

"In practice the Dell S2716DG performed best with the response time setting at normal. There were low levels of blurring evident, the image looked sharp and there were only low levels of overshoot detected. "

Make sure ULMB is on aswell, as that's what gets rids of motion blur best.

I notice more overshoot with response times on fast - once you know what to look for you can't unsee it :(

I've never really gelled with ULMB - it almost always degrades colour reproduction even with brightness, etc. pushed up to compensate and the difference in motion clarity is minor to my eyes at best - I might as a very edge case enable it if I was playing something like CS competitively but even then I think I'd rather have G-Sync.

Isn't the ULMB deactivating Gsync? I thought it was one or the other.

Mine was set to 'normal' and I had obvious black trails when it was on 'fast' so I removed immediately.

I think so yes. But I think that ULBM makes more sense for games where it's needed (very fast paced FPS, such as CSGO) than g-sync. G-sync is then ofcourse more useful for anything but very fast paced games. Of course having both would be ideal, but I think it's an acceptable compromise. Unless you get screen tearing in fast FPS, then you're a a bit screwed. I wouldn't be using ULBM for something like Skyrim, for example.

I've never tried, but I thought screen tearing could only get worse with high frame rate. In fact, I'm not convinced at all by the idea that Gsync is for making 40 fps bearable. To me, Gsync is supposed to improve the experience of games that keep moving from 55 to 100 fps, therefore causing endless tearing, plus stuttering for the 50-60fps bracket.

I might reinstall Bioshock Infinite to see that for myself.
