Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

I've managed to play a little on the monitor and I'm really impressed with it. The Witcher 3 was literally the best looking thing I've ever seen on a monitor and was just so smooth. Also played Fallout 4 - which really should be a pants experience on this set-up (apparently it doesn't support G-Sync, can't support SLI and not only has a framerate cap but also ties its physics to the framerate) and I have to say it was flawless. I set a 70fps cap in inspector and forced V-Sync off whilst leaving G-Sync on. No lag, no stutter, no tearing - perfect smooth gameplay.

Also did a few hours work on it and I love the additional space over 1080p. I've tweaked the colours to my liking and honestly love the picture. I'm sure it's still well below a good IPS but for me it's marvellous.

I'm in two minds whether to return it or not. On the one hand it bugs me that I've spent £500+ on something that isn't perfect. On the other, I'm not sure if I might end up with something worse and hate the hassle of going through returns processes!

Here is a pic of the bleed I mentioned previously:

I'm loving it, i used a 30" Dell for years but ditched it for 24" 144hz, it's great to have more real estate again with the bonus of 144hz.

Baddass would you recommend this this monitor at the black Friday prices?

Not able to do much research ATM as i'm in lectures all day

if you're after a gaming screen and are an NVIDIA user then it's a very good option. decent build, support, warranty etc from Dell too.

Would really like this monitor but I'm nervous about the various issues. I currently have a Dell u2412 which is IPS. I primarily game and i want g-sync, but i do some occasionally do some very light photo editing in light room. Is there anyone that is happy with this monitor? or is the best thing to wait until next year and hope for a lg/samsung/dell ips panel with g-sync over 60hz.

Hi all, I bought this monitor based on peoples feedback and for me that monitor performs really well for my requirements. I also have a Dell IPS screen which has better image quality on the mid to dark colours but has a around 8ms response rate. However with a bit of tweaking I can get a repeatable close match.

Blacks to mid greys can look slightly washed out and come across as either grainy or blocky. In game though you won't notice that due to the high framerate.

One thing that has annoyed me is the discount price for Black Friday. I could understand a 1-4% or even a 10% but a whopping 21% on a new product is crazy. I personally feel cheated that I paid full price on overclockers and makes me wonder if the product was ever worth the asking price?

Is anyone else who has already purchased this at full price feel annoyed or is it just me?

Regards, Keith

Dont worry they have pulled the deal. I went to buy one at that lrice and it says product no longer avaliable. Not none in stock just not avaliable. Sucks i was going to get one. In reguards to your question. No its not worth the price tag but it has dell written on it so people will pay it simples. Same as an iphone not worth that cash but i still own one.
