Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Went from 120Hz to 144Hz with Gsync. Didn't notice much a difference between 120Hz and 144Hz but the smoothing factor of the Gsync was very noticeable.

Has anyone upgrade from one of those cheap 1440p IPS Korean screens (where you can't relay get a calibrated profiles). Just wonder how much or how little IQ I would lose if I switched from my current PC bank Korean screen to the Dell Gsycn with a profile.

I've got a Spyder5PRO arriving tomorrow morning to calibrate the monitor, while the colour looks good I feel it could be better so I'll report back my findings after!

Had no other issues with the monitor what so ever.

got it from the same place for 390 will arrive after Christmas but who cares.

thanks neil for heads up

You're welcome

I just hope as I said in trust, that it works out for the both of us! Can never tell with hardware.

Mine is due to arrive by Monday AM, already tracking it today

Would anyone be a legend and put up a youtube video of them calibrating this screen from start to finsh using the tft.icc profile not sure if im doing it right or got a bad pannel.

My colours looked like there washed out and my whites ie google in fullscreen mode as a hint of red across it. Not sure if its me the screen or what, but it just doesnt feel right to me.

Also how do I know if gysnc is actually working in game? On the ROG you get a red light.

One last question. At 144hz does your GPU down clock to lowpower 2d mode. Mine sits at 3d clocks.

Here is the guide I followed

Also you may find just adjusting the gamma in NCP to 0.78 which seems to improve the colours in game.

As the TFTCentral review stated, the screen is setup for gaming and isn't that great for desktop usage and browsing.

Drop your refresh rate to 120Hz if you dont want it to idle a 3D clock speeds. I beleive its a driver issue that causes 144Hz to run at 3d clock speeds.
