Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Has anyone upgrade from one of those cheap 1440p IPS Korean screens (where you can't relay get a calibrated profiles). Just wonder how much or how little IQ I would lose if I switched from my current PC bank Korean screen to the Dell Gsycn with a profile.

I'm in same position. My pc bank has been great for years and I'm struggling to find better for money.

Yes i have upgraded from a overclocked QNIX korean monitor and i am happy with the Dell.. IQ wise you will notice the colour difference compared to IPS and the viewing angles of course but apart from that everything else is superior imo :)

If you do a lot of gaming then i would say go for it:D

every panel is different you can't rely on someone elses profile working for you. Differences can be staggering as I found out:

I don't have a Korean monitor anymore as it wasn't good for gaming but I will let you know what mine is like once it arrives.

If its like the Asus then from my experience there is quite a bit of variation between the panels and calibration settings for one can be way off for another.

Indeed, even more so when I did it wrong :p

I noticed a pretty drastic difference between the profile on the TFTcentral review and mine (now it's done properly)

Did my other screen aswell (4+ year old ASUS) and the colours are similar on both now, the calibration device was a good investment!

Calibrated my display with the Spyder5 now, the ICC profile is downloadable below if anyone is interested in trying it:

Brightness 120cdm/2 Whitepoint 6500k Gamma 2.2

Monitor settings - Colour Standard / Brightness 27% / Saturation 100% (as per software requirements)

The result came back with 98% sRGB coverage.

I cant see your ICC profile to download i would like to try it out :p

I was looking at getting one of these to go with a new GPU purchase as the Rog Swift seem's riddled with issues. Has anyone got/had both that can give an honest view? Obviously the Dell is a good £100 cheaper on here.

I ordered first thing @ £455 it dropped later to £439.99 so OCUK refunded me the difference, seems a steal at that price imo. Probably won't set mine up until my 980ti arrives on wed.

Great profile this one! Although I increased my brightness to 40-50% as yours was a little too dark :D

Nice thanks

Hope the wait was worth it mate, will be interested to hear your impressions as i know you were a bit indecisive :)

Personally im loving it, no dead pixels, no noticible BLB and for my usage requirements im delighted with the monitor.

Need to try that different profile tho currently using the TFT Central one
