Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Imagine if you bought one of these B Grade Dell monitors and it had a dead pixel in the middle area, not worth £100 let alone £380.

My brand new one (well 3 weeks old now) has a stuck green pixel. It's acceptable apparently. Does Dell's premium panel guarantee cover these monitors? Or just UltraSharps? It might be just for monitors bought directly from Dell anyway.

Is this monitor better then the DELL as its IPS? Its on offer for the same price

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £511.09
(includes shipping: £11.10)

ive had the acer XB270hu and am now an owner of the Dell. Overall I prefer the dell. Ive been using IPS for some time now and love the tech except for the GLOW and the increased blur. My issue with the Acer was Blur and overshot, now the dell seems to have overshot to but not as bad as the acer sample i had. Also the Dell blurs a good deal less imho. This is just based on me looking at the panel and using it not direct measurement with tools and instruments. I cant stand blur as my eyes go nuts and i get a headache which is why i settled with the DELL monitor. It certainly has its issues though but most of them can be sort of fixed through calibration. Overall it is a good TN panel.

If you dont care about Blur(which is even worse the lower you go fps wise with g-sync due to image persistence) and overshot(mine was baaad but was also the new oktober build with 165hz OC capabilities) then the Acer IPS, if you get a good sample, might be of more interest to you.

Been around a month since I've had this so time to recalibrate. I'm going to set white level at 100cdm2 as living in the rain capital of England it's always cloudy so the monitor appeared a tad bit bright at 120cdm2.

holly cow, How come so many B grades ? well happy with mine so far. do fancy a second but dont think a B grade is the way forward surely this is retuned for a pixel or backlight etc.

I've been so tempted by this monitor but I can't help think the monitor market is so stagnant right now that I should probably wait til dp 1.3 etc.

I agree, but it will be a good 6 months at least before we see anything genuinely exciting on the DP 1.3 front, and of course there's the outlay for a new GPU to go along with it... plenty of time to start saving though haha! ;)

Its frustrating.

I would love an upgrade for my ugly bezelled 1440p Korean IPS but in all honesty there is nothing worth making the jump to. I appreciate the high refresh rates will amaze me but I cant justify £500 for it. It is annoying that manufacturers have let it drag on so long.

Loads for sale on b grade. 10+ in stock at the mo.

Guess that's a good sign of the batch quality when they were on sale...bullet dodged.
