*** Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor @ £447.99 inc VAT ***

If it was 120Hz it wouldn't really help. If it was 120Hz AND had some kind of uber IPS tech that was responsive enough for this to be an advantage then it may raise some eyebrows (and other things).

Just got mine, was about to try it out when it says in the instructions to connect it by the blue cable or DVI, I dont actually have a comp yet, was going to use it for my 360 so via HDMI until I get a computer. Does anyone know why you have to connect it up via those two cables at first?

You don't have to at all, they're just instructions to get the 'average user' going as most people will plug this monitor into a computer. You can do whatever you want with it first.

why has the price of this gone up so much? This is what p**ses me off about overclockers, they see nowhere else has it in stock and raise their prices

cheers for the replys, sounded like a really stupid question but it mentioned installing the cd to get the monitor to display its max res which I thought was really really weird as when push comes to shove it is only a monitor so thought I would play it safe and ask on here.

Anywho am seriously impressed with the monitor, well worth the money! Cant believe its price atm, so glad I got it when it was on offer :-) although wondering if everywhere else is out of stock does that mean that they are bringing out a new monitor?

Wish I ordered one now when it was £439 a few weeks ago in the weekly special (discounted from £469 with A02 revision and 3-year guarantee) than paying £499.

It's only I have enough cash after buying a much-needed 5970 three-months ago. No way can I pay £499 (with Xmas coming up) so will have to make do with what I've got, otherwise I'd order one right now from OC. I do hope OC do more monitor specials for higher-end monitors again - moreso when 20% VAT kicks in as it'll be £509.62 +del.

Looks like they have gone down to £470 again for this week only.

I was tempted to get one when they was £430 ish , but didnt have the funds at that time.

If they where £430 , id buy one now, got money burning in my pocket

biggest thing missing on the 23" one for me is the hdmi port :( can't understand why they'd miss this off! prob to tempt you into the 24" i'm guessing

Excellent bargain indeed, but it is by no means the 23" equivalent. It uses a cheaper panel, cheaper backlight and lacks the plethora of inputs and other features that makes up the Dell U2410.

True ... I am in 2 wordls to be honest but I could buy 2 23" for the price of one of these 24"s and still have some spare change :(

Hopefully there will be some under £400 deals for the Dell soon.
