*** Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor @ £447.99 inc VAT ***

Worth buying it new to get a A02? Or Bay it for £329 and risk a A01 or A00?

Mines a A01 that iv updated to A02 firmware fine. I wouldnt pay an extra £150 for a A02.

Unless you know something I don't, without a mount you can't turn the stock U3011 stand 90 degrees for portrait.

He means he would turn the 2 24" screens to portrait either side the landscape 30".

Well lets hope your lucky and the sellers not telling porkies :D

I decided to buy from OcUK as it all about peace of mind. Also the price dropped a little so that helped.

Thats exactly why I bought from OC (plus the discount which worked out at 6%) - I want piece of mind for many years to come. On that, is the 3-year guarantee through Dell or OC? I couldn't justify paying a few hundred pounds for a second-hand monitor that 'may' have an issue, but sounds great if you got one problem-free. Although I have no idea why that seller would want to sell a great monitor.

I'm expect delivery on Tuesday, and will using the links in this topic to help get my monitor calibrated, or may fish out my Huey Pro depending on how my prints in PhotoShop compare to the new settings.

Why? The warranty is with the screen so wherever you buy it from you will have the same piece of mind. You cant guarantee you wont get a dodgy pixel from ocuk. End of the day he probably paid a lot lot less for exactly the same screen.

yea, ah well still a year warrenty :P
I was actually looking to buy a refurbished 23" Dell off that same seller, but the 1 year warranty put me off. For me, of all things that need a longer warranty period, it's a monitor as they're generally quite expensive and a lot can go wrong with them.

Not trying to put you off or anything ;)

Movie mode settings

Got my new U2410 today, the colours are excellent :)

Been trying some settings but not got the movie mode quite right for blu-rays. What is the best settings to use for movie playback that gives the best black levels whilst maintaining a clear picture?

Here's what I've set it to (via DisplayPort) :-
Preset: Multimedia
Brightness: 28, Contrast: 46
Colour Settings: Input Colour Format: RGB, Mode Selection: Graphics (Video mode looks too dull).

ATI Settings (DisplayPort):-
Brightness: -45, Contrast: 83, Temperature Control: 6500k

ATI Video:-
Presets/Basic Colours: Use Application Settings.
Advanced Colour: 40, Flesh Tone: 50, Video Gamma: unticked, Brighter Whites: ticked, Dynamic Range: unticked
Advanced Quality: Dynamic Contrast: ticked.

It would be great if I could get help from someone more experienced here to help me improve the blacks as it isn't anywhere as deep as I was expecting. This is with the lights out and curtains drawn. Cheers

Got my 2410 today...

Seems the Mounting holes are 1cm lower then previous Dell 2408... = higher screen when on a triple mount.

Anyone know if this is indeed the case? if it is its going back to the seller on ebay for a refund
