Demon Souls PS5 Beginners Thread

I just beat the first boss, and I cannot describe the joy I felt! It felt so rewarding!! Wow, I can see why people love these souls games!! It was probably proper super easy to anyone who has completed the game, but little steps for me :D

I am slowly getting the hang of the game now I think...but damn it is brutal yet so much fun at the same time

It's what makes the Soulsborne games so enjoyable. Getting your ass handed to you over and over again then the sheer joy once you get through it! :D
 
Just finished this having never played the PS3 version.

Don't know if I'm just getting better at these games but I killed nearly every boss on the first attempt which was quite disappointing as the bosses in Bloodborne were hard as nails.

Got Sekiro to finish off then I'll NG+ it I suppose.

It is the easiest out the whole games.
 
I am hooked on this game, the brutal nature of it and just not knowing what lies around the next corner is intense!

I am taking it slow and now starting to be play very cautiously, like I am expecting to just get overwhelmed and killed any second.

Playing with the Pulse 3D headset and crossing the bridge with the dragons was just... epic
 
On my second playthrough and just cheesed the Armour Spider with a bow because I couldn't tank the fire attack.

Funny because first time round I just ran up and slashed it until it died.

I feel so ashamed.

Do you guys try parry everything or depends on enemy? I feel my lack of progress is directly attributed to the fact I try parry everything and often fail.

I used to try and parry but now just resorted to blocking with my shield, roll and then attack - I found parry was hit and miss (literally) lol

But I am no expert by any means, still learning these Soulsborne games

I don't bother parrying. Just block or dodge depending on the enemy.

I do make sure I'm not over burdened so I'm not fat rolling though.
 
I’ve reached the Tower knight and can see my struggling as well as the long run past the dragon bridges etc isn’t exactly filling me with enthusiasm. So I thought I’d try another level but it says “this arch stone is sealed” on all of the other levels. Am I missing somethings? I read on here you could go to any level.

I thought they all opened after you kill the Phalanx and can level up.

You have to speak to the monumental first, the game tells you this it even shows you a cutscene. After the first boss teleport back to the archstones. Go up the stairs, not all the way but you will see an opening. The monumental is sitting to the left with a lit candle. After that all archstones unlock.
 
Genuinely stuck now on trying to beat Fools Idol, I am getting smashed on this boss. Then the worst part I have to navigate all my way back through the prison, jeez! Feels like an episode of Prison Break!

Any tips on this boss? Seems like the 'real' boss doesn't have a health bar, is that right?
 
Always find the Soulsborne games interesting. I was getting absolutely demolished by the Penetrator then couldn't play it for a couple of weeks due to family stuff. Went back to it today and just absolutely strolled it, never even took a flake of damage from him. Never looked up any strategies or guides on how to beat him.

Think I'm on to the final boss now!

The real boss does indeed have a health bar. She is the one who fires the bigger projectile. Just use the colums to spot the real boss, ignore everything else.

The columns are great when it is 1 or 2 of them but, 4 - 5 I cannot seem to get the angles to block everything, I have used a crossbow to try range. Now I have zero grass to recover any health, I am screwed lol

Dis game is so damn hard!
