Destiny 2... It's a coming!

So the iron banner is basically just a normal crucible match, but you can get fancy looking gear out of it. Woooow.

Sitting at 303 now, just jumping on to do the weekly milestones and occasionally some crucible matches or the raid now. Crucible is fun, but I must admit the level cap is frustrating. Also, I'm sick of seeing the same weapons drop. Some more variation would be nice. I feel like I've seen all destiny has to offer now.

299 here, still not done the raid. Mostly enjoying it still but even as a casual player I am running out of things to do. Do have a second character but the classes dont really make a huge difference in play style so cant really be bothered levelling it.

Quite liking the PVP, though the rewards seem minimal and mostly useless.

It used to be better in D1, level advantages was enabled so say a 200 power level would always get stomped by a 300 power level, plus the weapons and gear was far better with its random perks and designs tbh.

Except for the lag, Good God the lag!!!!

They have already said they are going to revamp iron banner. The removal of random weapon rolls is a good thing, but it does remove some of the need/replayability to grind the perfect weapon.

This was what kept me playing D1, Remember me and a couple of friends grinding Omnigul for a Grasp of Malok or the Undying Mind strike for a perfect roll Imago Loop ( Fate bringer perks before making the older raids relevent again )

Glad they are revamping Iron Banner though.

The lag which still exists, you just can't see the connections anymore.... :p

Removal of random rolls (both weapons and Armour) without a corresponding significant increase in weapons / Armour was a bad idea from a game longevity point of view. If only there were weapon mods which could do the same thing as random rolls in D1... you know, with different perks / stats etc. Wouldn't it be great if weapon mods existed within D2.... WAIT A MINUTE!!

Revamping Iron Banner is a good start but this early on it isn't something that should even need fixing. It is like they completely forgot everything that they built on in the 3 years of D1 existing.

well ma headset arrived and by god it was garbage sounding couldn't even here my own gun firing but everything else was loud so its going back not impressed. what are you guys using that sounds decent enough?

Logitech G15 and it's perfectly fine. Check your drivers and config before returning, and don't listen to audiophiles ever.

I couldn't disagree more. I liked hunting for good rolls of weapons. I'd spend forever trying to get a T12 character (only managed it with my Hunter) trying to get that perfect build of Max Dis/Int, trying to find armour pieces that would let me carry more scout rifle ammo, faster scout rifle reloads, extra rockets in my boots, health regen on orb pick up. That grind to me was the fun.

I really feel like D2 was a few steps forward but a gigantic sprint backwards in many respects. The legendary guns have no character, beyond Nameless Midnight and Hawthorn's shotgun I struggle to really remember any others. Whereas even the Destiny Y1 guns were fantastic and memorable. ignoring my favourite raid guns (Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Praedyths Revenge, Praedyths timepiece, found verdict, Fang of Ir Yut, Swordbreaker, Blackhammer, hunger of crota) guns like secret handshake, saterienne rapier, Another NITC and Badger CCL will all have a place in my vault. Getting a god roll on Hung Jury - which was available at the DO vendor... Then the exotics were much better than the boring exotics we have now. Thunderlord, Gjallarhorn, Vex Mythoclast, Suros Regime, Red Death, Ice-Breaker etc. The guns just felt so much better and more fun.

I'm still really enjoying D2, mostly as I can now play on PC with my friends but I loved Destiny 1.

I get what you are saying and while it's my personal preference on the random rolls, I know a lot, like you, prefer it randomised.

Personally I hope they add some more ways to modify weapons so we can get the best of both worlds.

I do totally agree on the weapons this time around, no doubt lots will moan endlessly if they reintroduce ones from the first destiny, but I hope they do.

Overall I think destiny 2 is in a good place, need better hitreg and a ranking system for pvp, better replay incentives and more weapon variety...etc lets see what the new patch and DLC brings to the table.

that is a keyboard bud and yeah a lot of them are way over budget for me unfortunately. it went back this morning, i reinstalled driver tried the settings in the sennheiser software which was very basic at best.

I think which side of the fence you sit on regarding weapon rolls (and a lot of the other changes they've made) simply comes down to how much time you have and/or want to spend in the game. During Destiny 1 I had all the time in the world to grind strikes, keep re-running the raids for different drops etc etc. Now I have a one year old and more work pressure to worry about I simply can't devote that time any more so knowing that the first Hawthorne's that drops is going to be a great one and I don't need to keep grinding forever for a god roll takes a lot of pressure off. That said, I'd still prefer to see a much larger pool of weapons and armour, but combined with better, perhaps more targeted ways to go for the loot you want (e.g. things like strike-specific loot) as a compromise.

Saturday 8:30pm raid has a spot open btw, sorry chaps but I've had to remove my sign-up as the wife has reorganised my weekend unfortunately!

gave PVP a few runs last night, not great.

what were they thinking when they allowed that gun/ammo which bounces off walls ? Spam, spam, spam.

yawn.

Bloody love PvP this time around, Iron Banner is all I'm playing

Same here, the PvP for me is just bang on, The time to kill is perfect for my playstyle, which is mostly get hit, but don't hit much :D Also love the re-spawn time.
Despite the lack of in game communication sometimes you just land in a team that seems to communicate telepathically and it all comes together perfectly, you kinda just know what there thinking and about to do..make sense?

Some criticisms would be how long it takes to form a match, and the loot? I'm getting 95% blues, so I have no legendary shards to upgrade my gear (infuse) Probably from not really leaving the crucible since completing the campaign, I was hoping I could level up just from PvP, can you hit 305 from just the crucible?

Also only played Warlock so I know nothing of the other classes, but can the Hunter use a Sword as a none power weapon?
Every now and again I will land in a match with a guy just running around 1 hitting everyone with a sword, you can only hit with the sword with power ammo right?

Raid squad from last night cleared Calus challenge mode last night, Bit of guess work of what to do but we did it on 2nd try. Before that I think we had the rest of the raid done within 30 - 45 mins.
