Destiny 2... It's a coming!

We’ve seen community discussion around XP gain in Destiny. After reviewing our data, we agree that the system is not performing the way we’d like it to. Today, we’d like to describe what’s going on under the hood, and talk about what you can expect going forward when it comes to earning XP in Destiny 2.

Currently, XP will scale up when playing longer or fixed duration activities like Crucible competitive multiplayer matches and the Leviathan Raid, and XP will scale down when playing activities that can be quickly, repeatedly chained, like grinding Public Events. We are not happy with the results, and we’ve heard the same from the community.

Effective immediately, we are deactivating this system.

As a result, players will see XP earn rates change for all activities across the board, but with all values being displayed consistently in the user interface. Over the course of the next week, we will be watching and reviewing XP game data to ensure that these changes meet our expectations, as well as yours. Any additional updates to this system will be communicated to you via our official channels.

Of course they did, engram purchases are their only source of income after the game is bought and the DLC is bought, can't have players earning them too easily now can we

Getting sick of all these mechanic designed to make us pay more money
 
It's cosmetics only, so who cares? It doesn't affect anything of meaning, same with the xp in the game, it's just such a non issue in this instance.

By just playing the game you earn more than enough bright dust to do whatever, god forbid you need to save for 2 weeks to buy the 3000 speeder.
 
Thought I would leave the Crucible and try guided strikes, sitting watching and waiting for someone to hold my hand through it, why can't you just normal match-make for the nightfall, Just wanted a change from the PvP, instead I stare at the 1/3 players screen :(
Perhaps my fault for not joining a clan yet.
Wish you could grind 305 via Crucible so badly....

Always join a Clan. It's not much help in finding groups until they get Clan Chat in (coming soon), but you will get up to four Guild Engrams a week.
 
I just started playing. Ive never even read about the gameplay. No idea what im up to. Not really enjoyed the railroading but ive reached some farm or other and things seem a little less forced.

Tips? Join a guild thing?
 
You played Destiny 1 or is your first? Check the Milestones and see what you can do. Elites (I think) are Yellow/Orange HP bars and will drop good loot. Trade in materials to their respective owners and enough in each gets an engram.
 
I still haven't worked out the clan system. Just about getting my head around the open world with real people seemingly doing random quests and my own personnal ones.

Being in clans gives different benefits, and will offer clan chat in the new DLC
 
Hey Gamble, are u poking around in the game files like u did with the division? I'd be curious to know if those ps4 exclusives are actually in the game & just locked off or not developed yet.
 
Thanks to everyone in last night's raid group for sherpa'ing me through my first raid and sticking with it despite a combination of my game freezing and the multiple wipes.

I don't suppose there is a group that fancies baby sitting me through the raid at some point ? its the last thing i have to do now really :D

Definitely, we have the100 group setup and ofc OCUK discord so can set something up after reset :)

Nice one. I looked at the 100 group but noticed only 36 members... but a nice carry after reset would be welcome :) levelling up the other 2 toons so once i know what im doing i can help others out :)
 
Has anyone actually bought engrams......:)?

Hasn't affected my game at all as they are just cosmetic I dont care. :D Thats the kind of "loot box" I dont mind at all.
