Destiny 2... It's a coming!

Going to give this a go when it opens, reading quite a lot of angry reddit posts about controller aim assist and how it is actually much stronger than the consoles version.

Probably cos the majority of us are playing above 30 FPS ;)

I haven't played The Division before and have watched a couple of Destiny 2 beta videos to see what it's all about. Is it purely teamwork and clans/guilds or is there any solo play for meaningful advancement?

My first impression is that the weapons are a bit like Borderlands, in that there's little to distinguish them apart from increased stats. Are bigger numbers good enough to keep it interesting?

I have hopes that it'll be a game I'd like to play.

Okay well it runs smooth and looks great 21:9. Played through the intro and did the instance thingy with a boss at the end and it was okay, nothing special but okay.

It's a shame the dev's have kept aim assist on for the PC version, something they need to remove.

I'll defo try out the other classes and see how they play.

Its hard to say...

Graphically = its good but not out of this world good - however it fits the theme of the game
Performance = amazing. 4k, 60FPS on almost highest settings on a 1080ti. Fantastic.

Gameplay = this where I am unsure about but I think its due to the lightweight nature of the beta. PVP in this game aint for me, I don't like it at all, but the PVE aspect I can see potential. The PVE at the moment, feels generic most of the time, shoot and kill the bullet sponge....I don't know how I feel about that. And yes this coming from a TD player but it just feels too much imo.

In addition, I hate the menu system and invite system.

Luckily, I got the base game for free so will play that regardless with some buds but right now, I don't see longevity in the game just a bit of fun for a month.

And this is from someone who hasn't played D1 but just my 2c

I'm not looking to much into the Beta for content, only thing I'm playing the Beta for at the moment is to see how it plays on PC. There's no content in the Beta at all, it's very sparse as to be expected. Regarding it's optimisation, wow is all I can say about that, it plays and feels like Doom on Vulcan....Buttery smooth baby :)

Just completed the intro thing. Was quite enjoyable. Very polished graphics and good performance. A nicely made game.

I didnt do the social aspect of it but its good. Similar kinda thing to Titanfall 2 I thought.

Not sure about your actual internet speed but have you gone into the settings on the battle.net client and up the speed if you haven't already.

I was getting 42MB/s at peak my self.

I was getting 7MB/s at peak, now its crawling along at 400 KB/s.

Edit - and it suddenly speeded up again.

Just played the first mission. Wish I hadn't as now I'm considering waiting for the PC release rather than get it on PS4 next week like I originally intended.

Though the game did crash on my first attempt at the mission so not sure what happened

Nothing wrong with the game great graphics great performance, wish more game were built like this just not my cup of tea, hip fire clip into sponge, duck behind cover, reload, rinse and repeat - That's the only mechanic to this game imo.
