Destiny 2... It's a coming!

afterburner was working yesterday but today it stopped working once the full beta access went live.

Action still works... It's not ideal as its recording software but you can set it up just to show fps.

Finally loaded the beta on my PC, D2 feels good on PC with m/kb. But compared to what I'm used to GFX wise it feels a little dated, not to say it's bad looking but it's certainly dated. Gameplay wise having played D1 from the start and the beta on PS4 my thoughts haven't changed, it's more of the same.

Still undecided if I will get the PC version as well as the PS4 version although I'm starting to feel more inclined to PS4 and save the money on the PC version and get Anthem.

This is awesome. Someone has already released a Razer Hydra control scheme and it feels so much better than playing with controller.

I don't like normal KB/M setups so I am very happy.

I'm getting a Geforce experience FPS counter no problems at all.

I agree about the graphics. two years ago we'd all be raving about them but now they're nothing special or amazing. Functional at best from what I've seen so far.

Tried some PVP and not for me, but PVE I will definitely be sticking with the game for PVE.

nope AB works for me!

Mine doesn't well the OSD that is.

This however does work for me, i am also getting the shadowplay counter. I wonder if some work has gone on behind scenes regarding drivers that also included this? Just glad i can still use shadowplay :D

As for my view of destiny 2 ;

Have not yet tried pvp and in reality probably won't i only play mmo style games for the pve element. And that is something i can say i truly enjoyed playing just now. Both parts of it were well done. This has convinced me that it's a buy for me especially given how well optimised the game is and how it transitioned over to mouse and keyboard. If the main game can keep up that standard then it will be a very fun game.

8/10 for the beta. Only reason for not being a 10 is because i would have liked to have had a tiiiiny the whole game bit more content to play as it's left me knowing im going to be bored for the rest of the night with my other games :(.

You guys know there is an fps counter in the game options? its disabled by default.

Only had time for a quick go before work, runs well, plays well, though I think there might have been some lag issues or something as mobs sometimes didnt appear to attack or just vanished & reappeared somewhere else.

^ not having AB running is a lot less to do with just the fps readout. It's more along the lines of the plethora of other information it can provide us and in cases diagnose issues with crashes. Without this tool it can be a struggle to see exactly whats going on with your system.

Cool so like the incursions in division then.

Are the point of them to get better guns to use in mp?

The point of the raids are to get better end game loot for both high level VE and PVP. Some of the most iconic guns from D1 were only available from completing the raids (Fatebringer, Vex Mythoclast, Vision of Confluence).

Check out say Templar challenge mode, Oryx Hard mode or Aksis Challenge mode to give you an idea of what to expect from a Destiny raid.

Ooooo, downloading now! Been wanting to try this, as I wanted to play Destiny on the consoles but my aim with a controller is questionable at best.

Played the intro and one of the runs, really good fun! Enemies are a bit spongy but meh, guns feel cracking as well!

I'm running on a 980ti @ 1440p, everything is max aside from I'm running AA at second highest and Depth Of Field is at medium, not high. I'm averaging around 90fps.

Hmm seem to get less at 1080p on a 1070 will have to do some tweaking.

I'll try to cover some general points for those who didn't play D1.

In theory, yes they are like Incursions. In practice they are much better put together than any incursion in TD. In D1, they generally consisted of working your way though 3 or 4 smaller boss encounters with a final end boss. There are unique mechanics required for each boss/phase, major focus is on team work and communication as players will be singled out or need to pair up etc. In between each encounter there are normally mazes, jumping puzzles, hidden loot chests etc.

Apart from the initial starting areas, the raid settings are completely unique (i.e. you will never see them in game unless you enter the raid) and in fairness to Bungie they are normally an epic journey, not just sat in one room as per Falcon Lost etc.

Later in D1 they also added challenge modes (which are theorised to be Prestige mode in D2) whereby for each raid encounter, there would be a very specific way of completing it e.g. every player has to take a debuff once, or you have to stop the boss teleporting around the map etc. These challenge modes would give higher drop rates, and unique shaders/emblems etc.

As far as loot goes, its slightly similar to TD, raids drop "gearsets" and have a higher chance to drop exotics. There are also unique quests unlocked when completing the raids. Very interesting read here for the Outbreak Prime exotic, which shows the depth that some of the raids/quests go into both in and out of the game, far more complex than just a standard loot drop from a boss.

For PvP, weapon damage is usually normalised, so if you're a newbie at level 10 you don't get one shot by a level 20 + max power player. However, there are various monthly and weekly events that do have "power level" enabled matchmaking, where having the best gear in the game really comes into play. These activities again drop unique gearsets and weapons only available in those playlists/gametypes. Hope that helps :)

Hmm seem to get less at 1080p on a 1070 will have to do some tweaking.

The only 2 settings that had impact were depth of field and full AA, so I dropped it down to SMAA(?) instead of MSAA... I think, it's the second highest, and as for depth of field, same thing, dropped down to the second highest, AA drop gave me double fps! And the dof gave me 15fps increase. Everything else had minor difference.

Lacky you are now the destiny guide for us PC players that never played D1 :D

Any concerns on content ? watched and read a few bits about concerns it might be being rushed out again like the first one ? i cant comment on this because i didn't play d1 ha.

D2 had already been delayed for a year... it was supposed to come out September 2016. Rise of Iron expansion for D1 was rushed out in its place as a stopgap.

There are plenty of content too, Bungie has said there are the same number of activities as all of Destiny 1 and its four expansions put together, except just one raid at launch instead of the four that D1 now has.

destiny 1 content wasnt rushed, the total opposite on release - it took ages to level, limited number of missions/strikes - one of the things that fill me with confidence is that they have openly discussed these issues/negative aspects from the first one and what they are doing/done to address them.
