Destiny 2... It's a coming!

So now it is over what's the verdict? Especially those that tried it in all platforms.

I liked the PC version the best. Looked about the same for me on OG Xbone as on PS4 Pro (weird right).
Torn as my mates play One xbox however so would be a shame to leave them.

I see where you are coming from but what if you want the visual fidelity of the PC but the laid back experience of a console?

I personally do use controllers for many games. That did include FPS until I got my motion controllers.

Then I think you just need to accept you're on a platform which most players use a better control method.

I'm not against controllers. I use my Xbox One pad all the time for single player games. But asking for a aim assist on a PvP game seems a bit lame

Fair comment, I am actually against the aim assist myself. Just saying that many use the controller scheme and would be a shame to go to console for that.
Agreed just keep it to PVE.

My main gripe is how poorly it is supported in some games like BF3.

SO after reading into it, the issue isn't aim assist for controllers, that actually balances the playing field a little, its the way you an use M+K AND get aim assist. So you get the precision and speed of the Mouse but the locking effect of a controllers aim assist. Seems easy enough to do even without that XAIM thing.

Overwatch had aim assist and Blizzard removed it completely, hopefully they will do that with D2. if they don't I will still buy it but I won't bother PvPing. Aim assist in PvE is neither here nor there.

I do wonder why the PC version of the game isn't coming out in september, The beta ran fantastic on my machine at both 3440x1440 and 4k.

So why does the game need a extra month and 3 weeks before it releases on PC. I'm quite curious and i'd really like to know.

Also it's going to be VERY HARD for me to stay away from the PS4 and internet for spoilers. I want to enjoy the game at the same time as everyone else :(

To shift more console units, make people double dip?

Only plus side of the delayed pc release is that we get to see how it's received on console and how much content there is at launch.

With this scattered launch, does it mean we will be late to receive future dlc too or do we think/know it will be same date as that of console players?
Yeah console gamers can do the real beta testing for us. I'm fine about the delayed release date.
As for the DLC question, i imagine they'll be released at the same time but just guessing really.

Would it be worth getting and whizzing through Destiny 'the collection' on the console, it's only £20-25.

Only asking as after playing the beta did not have a clue what the story was, like, what was that moon thing the bad guys snaffled, what's the 'light', many, many questions :D

The first game didn't tell us much about the traveler (big ball) or the light either! It was one of the biggest criticisms for it. The developers have said D2 is actually the story that tells us all about the light and its effect on everyone.

Yes and No.

Its got progression and raids etc like Guild Wars, but its not an MMO like Guild Wars (you wont see hundreds of players running about on your screen)

Neither would you in Guild Wars. Outposts had a 64 player limit, IIRC? Instances, 8 to 16 players, mostly 8 to 12 in later campaigns. Outposts were very much assembly points to form parties and play instanced campaigns.

Stats and player progression were persistent, the world wasn't.

So Yeah, it's Guild Wars with guns. I miss that game...

Indeed

Only thing to avoid is Raid info. Bungee aren't even teasing it ahead of its release a week after the game comes out. They are just opening it and letting players discover it
