Destiny 2... It's a coming!

Really hope they patch the memory leak ASAP as it's annoying have to close the game down every 45-60 minutes to maintain a decent framerate

I'm not at home to test... but... do you overclock your CPU/GPU? If you do - try resetting it to stock and see if it happens.

I know I had one game which would have issues when overclocked (even when stable!) and resetting it to stock fixed it.

Has anyone tried playing around with crossfire? I read a few reports that the basic AFR profile worked OK in the beta, and I know Bungie promised SLi support so the engine must be relatively mGPU-friendly.

I'm tempted to buy this, but the PC I'd mostly play it on has R9-290s in crossfire. If it won't perform well I'll hold off until I upgrade.

Crossfire is fine - only issue apparently is if you run it full screen exclusive, don't task switch. If you want to task switch, use borderless window.

It’s definitely not my hardware, a lot on here have had the same and it’s mentioned a lot on the Destiny subreddit :(

Yeah absolutely. That was my first thought too, only my CPU is overclocked but reverting that made no difference.

Such a shame as on my last 4 hour stint last night (played until 3am :o) my FPS was down to around 15-20 max by the end. Which makes it nearly impossible to play on the platform parts

Reset and I’m back up to silky smooth on highest settings. So annoying

I noticed the game got choppy around some of the cut scenes (not the video ones) and intro's to some of the areas. During those times, I also noticed that my 980Ti's fans were spinning down so it's almost as though it's downclocking during those bits before ramping up when you're able to control the character.

Great game though, really enjoying it.

The cutscenes are capped at 30fps so they will look choppy and I would think the fans would spin down as theirs much less work to do

Thanks. Where are you getting the info? Google turns up very little for me!

It was in the Bungie Known Issues list posted just before launch:

  • Crash after Task Switching: The Destiny 2 client may crash after switching tasks (ALT+TAB) when AMD Crossfire is enabled. To avoid this issue, players should avoid switching tasks for extended periods of time when the AMD Crossfire feature is enabled.
The last bit about using borderless window mode I read somewhere... but can't find it now.

Thanks for trying Steedie! Just trying to rule out things...

Next up.... do you have it installed to SSD or HDD?
Mine is SSD and another user is SSD.

MAYBE the load screens (we were both flicking between fast load points) do more than just load levels - maybe they unload things from memory too... and because it takes me 3-5 seconds to load, I am thinking MAYBE it isn't unloading info from ram?

My OS is installed on an M.2 drive but the blizzard app and the game are installed on a normal hard drive

Ah well that explains why my card suddenly goes quiet every now and then haha :p

Thanks for confirming, I'll get the FPS counter on when I get in and see how it's performing.

Anyone who's using a Ryzen CPU had any crashes yet? Had two last night over a 6 hour stint where it'd crash to desktop, then say something like 'unable to read game content, please scan & repair through the Blizzard app'?

Upon doing the scan & repair it would say there is nothing wrong with the install and it'd load back up fine.

Yep - had it crash once. Didn't get that error though - just "Destiny has stopped responding"

For anyone experience FPS slowdown over time and apparently memory leak issues, a lot of people on Reddit are saying this fixes it

1.Go to your game folder
2.Open properties of Destiny.exe
3.Go to compatibility
4.Check DPI-scaling via application
