*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Me, Wyrdo and a few from destiny managed to get to crota on hard but a few of us had to leave. I managed to get the auto rifle.

Our Xbox group have made it to Crota in about an hour. This fight will probably take a while though...

Can recommend the Suros Regime for healing at Crota, gives you full health when the regen perk activates. I imagine Red Death would be good too.

Got Crota to literally zero life, he enrages automatically when he's down to minimal life now too so you need to finish him off pretty darn quick.

Left it at that for tonight.

Looking forward to this, 32 warlock ss or vw

Nice little run....pleased with the auto rifle, can't wait to get it levelled up :)

Same group next Tuesday after reset?

Not that arsed about Crota tbh, it's a bit crap on normal and looks a nightmare on hard...but want to keep running first few sections for weapons and stuff.

Eurgh I am going to have to pull out of the raid run on Sat. Sorry chaps. :(

Well I wasn't expecting to get as far as we did on CE HM this evening so I do t need to do it Saturday now. Might concentrate on levelling up my hunter, do a bit of VoG or something. Still have a couple nightfalls to do.

Crota Normal Mode XB1 Thursday 8ish

1) Wardyp - 31
2) Chris M135i - 30
3) Auty71
4) Schnippzle - 30
5) EvilMatt - 30
6) The Buff Man - 31

Sorted then

Can I be a reserve please? 31 Titan/31 Warlock/31.75 Hunter.

ta :)

Sadly we didn't quite finish off Crota HM tonight so we'll be carrying on tomorrow, so ^187 can have my spot :)

We were so close on one or two occasions! I think with a wee break we'll get him down quite easily next time. We've got a good technique going on now.

Just had a little play with the auto rifle. Seems pretty decent, and that's without any of the upgrades unlocked. Pretty stable for an AR.

Yeah we'll have him tomorrow. I like that invis tactic for the 2nd round of hits, saves so much time.

Didn't get a single weapon up to that point, just a 2nd pair of boots and materials. I had better get something decent when we down the big guy!

Yes it seems to be not too bad, was hitting level 30 for about 228 on a crit i think. Somehow after spending an age on getting my armour I also managed to pick up the pulse rifle which was actually hitting a bit harder 243 per crit with similar mag size. I see more uses for the auto rifle though with the solar + disorient wizards perks.

Still not sure of the best way to get rid of the ogres safely but I'm sure we'll get it done next time.

Yeah I'd be up for that - enjoyed it though it took UA a while to get our act together at the start :p

ps3ud0

Yup, still no weapons for me either.

We did pretty wellup until Crota, juggling the different adds in sequence and if anyone is out for too long, we're in trouble (i.e. Wizard / Swordsman / Ogre hiding!)

Nice work on getting as far as you did. :)

How did you find in terms of using saying 300 weapons instead of 331? Also are there many key differences beyond it being "harder"?

So I think we'd pretty much figured this whole thing out on our own (which is a nice change and really why we play the game, right?!) but just for confirmation:

I guess the important thing to note is in the final sword is pretty critical to pick up orbs (he mentions at least 3) to be able to use a super once Crota enrages at below 15% health. Looking forward to killing him tonight...

We were so close up till that enraged bit. As you've said, looks like orbs generation for the last sword attack. We can do it tonight!

This is a new method - Centre Platform, currently top topic on Bungie Forum

One key technique we need to take home from their work is, don't kill the boomers. Have someone constantly crit hitting the boomers so no shots from them, no wizard spawn to deal with. HOWEVER, it works for them because they only crit the boomers when the sword man goes to pick up sword / waiting for crota to go down.

Also, the sword bearer seems to run in just before crota goes down and use his blade hit to finish the shield damage.

Thor, have you noticed that worked? Might be another time saving move like the invisible melee.
