So crota is proving to be quite tough to get down! Are the Xbox lot around on sat evening say about 20:00 to have another go? I'm also available this evening but it might be good to take a break for a day.
I believe Phog is unavailable this weekend so Auty (Si) we definitely have a space going if you didn't mind jumping in at crota? Titan bubbles much appreciated!

We keep getting him to around 1/3 health consistently, but yet again the fight is so buggy it makes it more random chance than skill as to how far we get. Knights walk through glass at the beginning and rush us, swords dissappear when you try to pick them up, crota lunges instantly from being down which kills the sword guy instantly. Along with the typical oversoul dying but killing us anyway etc that normally happens. 
Finding the sword pretty easy for a guaranteed combo + heavy every time though so thats a plus i guess haha

This is the one that gets me the most. Seems to be completely random and has been happening since day one on normal.
We've got him down to the enrage point a few times - we've actually had to hold back a little on the number of hits as he can enrage after 2 swords if you're not careful (as we found to our cost!). It's just getting clear after the Ogres and getting that 3rd sword that we're struggling with. His health is usually just above a quarter at that point so getting him down should hopefully be pretty easy if I could just get my hands on that goddamn sword!
I jumped into a normal mode at Crota after spending about 3 hours trying to defeat him on hard. The difference is insane! Took 3 minutes in total. He was down with 2 swords and hits to spare. At least I got to go to bed having actually killed him
Yeah its stuff like that that reallu makes me doubt the commitment of time to doing it. Spent ages trying to kill atheon on hard mode, now it seems pretty easy. Crota was hard until everyone was 32 and then it was a walk in the park.
Its only 6 weeks until house of wolves, and if previous efforts are anything to go by i really think i've got better ways to spend my time than spending hours chasing something that'll be pretty effortless in just 6 weeks.

Yeah Saturday's good for me, think I need to take a night off (or at least reign it in a bit) tonight to avoid annoying the wife any more than I already have done!
I'm still determined to beat him. I think now that I've spent about 6 hours trying to beat him on hard, I simply have to do it.
I'm convinced all we need is a level 32 Defender Titan and then we can do it pretty easily. Our strategy for the fight is as follows:
1) Clear room
2) Everyone meets on middle ledge to bring down the Swordbearer
3) I run to get the sword once the Swordbearer comes out, and he's down just before I get to him.
4) I go to the right side rock, go invis and jump up while everyone launches into Crota.
5) I get 3-4 heavy hits on Crota, drop sword, melee, go invis again, pick up sword. (I'm not sure if the guys are taking out the right side Boomers at this point, or distracting them in some way, but they don't appear to bother me).
6) The guys bring down Crota again and I get another 3-4 hits on him.
7) We all regroup on the left side, taking out Boomers, Wizard etc while we wait out Crota on the right side.
8) Crota goes middle, we take down Swordbearer and we repeat the previous steps, just this time from the left rock.
9) We regroup on the right and wait for Ogres, taking out Boomers, Thralls etc as necessary.
10) Take out right side Ogre.
11) Go to left (once Crota has gone middle/right) and take out left side Ogre.
12) All die as we get overwhelmed by Boomers, Wizards, and Thralls
I think Mr Jones is right and we should stick with the middle ledge strategy the whole way through as nothing bothers us there. If we have a Titan, we can even go there, or just off to the side, with a bubble around us for the Ogres and just really worry about them (maybe a few Thrall).
Taking down the Boomers seems to be a big no-no, at least after the 2nd sword, as the Wizards are far too lethal.
I'll be on Tonight and Tomorrow if needed.

We stay in the middle the whole time. Use a titan bubble on crota ledge to give sword guy an overshield for boomers. We get both the ogres down in about 30 seconds from the little room on the right. First ogre takes about 3 seconds to down and the next is maybe 10-15 seconds.
We only do the middle on the first swords bearer, then hybrid it with our original plans after. Seem to work but it's juggling the boomer then wizards in the right timing to avoid having too much to deal with after.
Think we should stick to the middle only, no wizard should be better, less massive DPS from her when anyone takes a wrong foot.

Yeah, we don't get a single wizard and it makes life a hell of a lot easier.
If you get a spare slot, i would like to do it. I have a Titan i can get to lv32 if needs be. I would really like to get up to Crota on him as i didn't have any difficulty at all getting to Crota on my other HM run(think it took our team 45 mins) and its a good opportunity to get loot/shards.

Best of luck to you all. I killed Crota on normal last night after we gave up on HM simply for my own satisfaction (and Hard Light dropped for me so that was a small reconciliation [WHERE'S MY G'HORN?!]).
- Kill both ogres
- Everyone goes back inside to re-heal / kill thrall onslaught
- Wait for Crota to go back to middle and chip at boomers
- When Crota in middle, finish off boomers and team moves together to outside middle glass
- Kill swordbearer as with first sword
The difficulty is dealing with the swordbearer at the last sword because there isn't sufficient control over where he goes when he comes out.

Cool I'll put you on reserves....I wouldn't be surprised if there was a friday night casualty.....usual rules, if someone's not arrived by 1015 and not got in touch then the spot is yours.
Agree getting up to Crota is pretty straightforward, shouldn't take too long.
