*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Didn't seem to be an overabundance of blink shotgunners to me. Pretty even split of snipers and shotguns I think. I would definitely recommend having at least one decent sniper on the team though as a lot of the matches tend to be stand-offs between the A and B control points.

Coolio.

Have to say I don't shotgun much, although I've now got my perfect voidwalker armour setup (100% INT 100% DIS) I'll happily go blink shotgunner stylee.

Greboth/OweO, you two go fast res? I can do although I lose some int, and I'd have to go sunsinger (not that I mind :))

The Cauldron.

I'll be running my Warlock first up, then see how we go. If we're doing well and flawless is a possibility I'll stick with it as it's my best class by a long way, otherwise I'll switch to titan/hunter and go for the armour sets.

Went flawless twice yesterday (for the first time!), which was good. Never really had much chance to give it a good go, so happy to have finally gotten around to checking that off the list. Was a lot of fun once I was in the swing of things!

Also managed to get a cheeky triple nade kill: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/EvilPhog/video/5103219

I didn't get a single kill with final round though! I get to the final shot then am like "ah this will be a kill, no problem" then proceed to bungle it every time :(

You should give Sunsinger a go. Got my first flawless run yesterday as a Sunsinger and there's so many perks of that class that make it great for Trials:

1) 2 x Firebolt grenades with Viking Funeral - turns all players hit by it into OHK to the body, and VF means the OHK window is even longer.
2) Activate Radiance and spam those Firebolt grenades!
3) While Radiance is active, and coupled with The Ram and at full health, you can survive a Golden Gun shot - happened to me yesterday.
4) It's a bit overused and quite easily countered, but Fireborn can save a round that you would have otherwise lost. A few times I've managed to self-res at 2-3 and take out the last remaining enemy, or self-res and revive a team mate. It's more common that I'll self-res and be insta-gibbed by shotguns though!

Cool :) When is the best times for people? While we will of course do it first time the pessimist in me suggests it may take a few attempts.

1. Greboth - Greeboth
2. BF-Bert - DavieM66
3. Mid_gen - midgen
4. AStaley - AStaley
5.
6.

Anyone want the last place for an attempt at a flawless normal CE raid. Running it 8pm on Wednesday.

Guys sorry somethings come up so I won't reach home till 10pm, please find a replace.

No problem mate, hope you get everything sorted.

You guys ready for trials Monday? :)

Anyone else played much this week, is it mostly a blink shotgun fest? Might treat my party crasher to some Etheric Light.

Ready to give a go :)

I switch between voidwalker and sunsinger regularly.

Not much point using Gift Of The Sun and Viking funeral as the grenades don't ignite people....you'd have to switch to just one grenade to make it worthwhile...I think I prefer having the extra grenade. If I'm playing control I'll usually run Radiant Skin and Heart Of The Praxic fire as it's awesome for just wading into a big group of enemies and murdering them all.

Fireborn honestly I'm a bit 'meh' about in trials. I've clutched a round here and there with it....but good players will just batter you before you can move. I've won a lot more rounds with a well placed nova bomb. I'll probably start with voidwalker and nothing manacles as there quite a few tight choke points where the scatter grenades could be nasty.

That isn't a bad call actually as my CE Raid helm has a decent chunk of Intellect.

If anyone fancies doing the Vault of Glass this week, a friend and I need some experienced fellows who can help. (we are both level 32 titan's)

We generally play in the evening (8pm+ most nights) so if you would like to give us a hand then feel free to add me on Xbox One GT: Je11y Master.

Nice

Myself & another warlock were "£$!" ing the other team up in our run yesterday. Two of us both running firebolt with Viking Funeral and Touch oF flame

absolute filth.

Hmm sounds like fun. I've levelled the Sunsinger but I haven't really played around with it too much in PvP.

From my limited amount of research just now I can see that Firebolt Grenade, Radiant Skin, Flame Shield, Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral seem to be the way to go. Is this right? Will have a play around tonight.

Agreed on Fireborn, its very easy to predict most of the times, or people just use it too late for it too even matter, it can be deadly at times, but I feel as a super it carries way too much risk, and you really have to time it perfectly, compared to other options I don't find it great. I've also faced teams of 3 players running it, but with team shooting they all went down, had 2 self res at the same time on Friday and just burned them down. Other supers are a bit similar, I've killed a lot of blade dancers since they pop it too far away and come straight at you.

After round three I typically just expect it too happen and get ready with my sniper/super. I think Radiant is a much better super, you can pop it and get very aggressive while tanking a lot of damage.

For nades, the burn ones from Sunsingers are best in class for trials, just wait till your certain of their location, hit them and start the burn, 1 shot and there dead, or just shot someones once and throw a nade.

Nothing Manacles are also great, I forgot how power they can be and get torn apart, blink is great for movement, not 100% sure about nova bomb thou, mostly cause I typically have blink and the animation is really long, so I can blink to safety and clean up the warlock.

Last week on Widow's Court I just saved nova bomb for the heavy round and planted it on the opposition's heavy on around the 2 second mark, the sight lines are huge so you can be airborne and fire it off before they see you on radar, easy wins :)

I do like blink...playing control today I had a 1v1 with a bladedancer coming right at me and just blinked around him until it ran out then took him out.

Nothing manacles are good for the double grenade, but I'm sure the seeking rounds don't always proc. Sometimes they seem to go aggressively for people a fair distance away like wolfpack rounds, other times just bounce about and not seek at all. Could be lag I guess. You still have to plonk it right on someone's head to kill them, and hope they don't blink out.

For heavy rounds I normally have a super, I wait around the corner there closer too the inside heavy, when its about to spawn I chuck a nade and try pick 1 off, and use my super if I can. I typically end up dead, but I delay then enough that my team can come rushing in before/just as they pick up heavy and I can call out where they are for an easy win. Also has the added benefit of being able to counter them if they rush your heavy, still have 2 guys back that are ready for a rush, and I can go in get their heavy, and hopefully my team has held them off and I can get some easy kills.

Nova bomb would be amazing for that, if you can aim it properly just wait around the corner, shot, ???, profit. I've seen some amazing Nova kills from long distances on Reddit, I would never be able to do lol.

And I got scout (solar) and vanilla pulse from the gold package :)

Would've preferred a void scout to go with VoC and Fang, but can't complain. More importantly, I got the Grimoire score just as Phog got within 10 points of me! :D

If you two are up for some more Trials tonight, I'd like to at least try for 5 wins to get the Hunter/Titan chest.
