*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Lot of whinging on the destiny forums about the boss on 34 PoE this week.

It's a pain, but doable legit.

I've done it twice this week, can't find anyone willing to run it again this week it's that bad.

Possibly the worst mechanics of any battle so far if I'm honest.

Seems to be lots of whinging on these forums about it as well :p. Me and LackyT took a new lv33 who had taken a break from the game for ~5 months judging by his gear and we cleared it first time and we didn't employ some kind of uber Gjallarhorn nuke strat to burst him down at the start. The fight must have taken nearly 10 minutes but we got it done. I tried using Super Good Advice for the shields but to be honest it didn't destroy them any faster than Found Verdict did so I gave up on that idea half way through and went back to using a shotgun to clear the shields.

I happened to complete the 'waiting' stage of the exotic bounty just after I completed the run which was rather amusing so I need to run it a few more times now to get that done. At least my 72 hour wait is over.......if anything there should be more people complaining about that quest than the lv34 boss mechanics

One of the hardest levels I've done on destiny (just the qodron bit) and I've not tried 35 yet. That's one character to 34. :)

Yeah that felt awesome when he finally dropped. It was certainly a pain until we got the strategy which worked down. We nuked him with 2-4 rockets after coming out of the door and then went right. Myself and Fallen (Blitz) focused on getting the eye down whilst Rooster controlled the flow of adds. In between all of that we tried to get DPS on the boss without being 2 shot by Axis hobgoblins.

Overall it took a few wipes where we got him down to ~ 15% health but now we have nailed it follow up runs should be fine.

Shotguns are the definitely the way to go with the shields (anything else is a waste tbh).

The whole fight is a lot easier once you know each others strategy and you all have maxed or near maxed (365) weapons.

I treated myself and selfishly upgraded my Fatebringer for Pigtails. Moody & Bluey will have to wait a bit longer to hit 34..
 
Yes it was good to get that done - so thanks for that guys.

Going to the right and then making sure whoever is Lvl 33 doesn't shoot the eye goblin seemed to work out well.

Deff think we'd do it easily next try now we have done it once.

Only reason it took so long was waiting between wipes to use ammo synths or go out and collect some, then wipe and repeat.


The goblin did hde behind loads of hobgoblins a couple of times when we would have otherwise had it but once we actually got a good strat, we only wiped 4-5 times max so not bad.

I think it's frustrating just trying to figure it out while constantly dying at first.

Now to try 35 at some point....lol

Is there any chance we would get a raid done this afternoon? If not I'm up for a 32 poe or ToO.

Want that fatebringer though. If I could get one of those to 365 I'd be set as most of my 331 leg primaries just tickle the higher enemies.
 
Hi, I was thinking of getting Destiny for Christmas, or my 15th Birthday, BUT, I'm really not sure whether Destiny is worth it, as my friends say it's good until rank 20. So is it worth it?
 
Did ToO last night for the first time, embarrassed myself a bit :p

I definitely need to get myself a Thorn and practise PvP before I give that a go again

That was a good bit of run last night in the crucible. That one team who kept chaining bubbles but STILL lost was hilarious! I am getting more and more used to Hawkawesome now. I just need to remember to take the extra shot to ensure they are dead!

Blitz - Piphal can't make it tonight but Tehmoe/Fallen God will take his spot. :)

If we get through the vault pretty quickly we can have a crack at Crota if anyone still needs weapons etc. I am happy to run sword on either Moody or Pigtails.

Need those boots really badly!!

Unfortunately I hate the current ToO map :(
I liked last weeks a lot more!

@owero - ok cool that's good. I also have someone else who can jump in if anyone else couldn't make it so we should be sorted.

Do a bit of trials in the afternoon then I must get some work done but I'll come back on well before to get sorted
 
how do you get ascendant shards now? i have broke down 2 legendary armor and gun and only got mote light thing.....

last time i played this u got shards....
