Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

The Steam overlay still isn't working in-game for me, I think it was the same in DXHR. Anyone else have any issues with it?

Steam Overlay is definitely enabled 'in-game' in Steam settings and works fine in other games

Did not work for me either, was not a big deal for me though.

Anyone else think that this is the biggest disappointment of 2016?

Indeed.

Mechanically a good game and, were it a new IP, it would certainly not be a disappointment.

But this is a Deus Ex game - games famous, amongst other things, for their storytelling and this narrative pales by comparison to the Original and HR.

That coupled with a lack of variation in environments really disappointed me as I said earlier in the thread.

I strongly believe the lady in charge of narrative (she's in the countless videos) should be sacked. She's taken a side effect of the main plot and decided to make that the main event. It is certainly relevant but segregation was never the driving force for the games.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but you have explained why I think so. The writing and lack of imagination is criminal.

i've kind opg gotten bored tbh.

not sure ill finish it. or wil lwhack the difficulty down to 0 and just shoot everyone to get it done.

feeels very repetative.

l;arge bits just seem to be there to make it seem longer

How do you guys like the game ? how does it compare to the original and human revolution ? pc specs are a gtx 970, 8gb ram and a i5 4690k

Pretty much what Superficial said below:

At first I was thinking maybe she was instructed to long out the story and stretch it over another few more games. But even so, surely it could have been done better than it was... They should hire Sheldon Pacotti, he did an awesome job in the original and in much less time.

Had the story in Mankind Divided been really good, I really would not have been bothered as much by the other problems like what they did with micro-transactions and dlc.

After Human Revolution I was happy to pay £48 and pre-order the digital deluxe version of mankind divided from green man gaming. But will not be doing that with the next game. Will just get it as cheap as possible from CDKeys or something and get the dlc later on sale.

Would not let the above put you off from buying the game though. I still put 90 hours or so into it and did have fun. Just did not live up to my expectations is all.

I'm quite enjoying it because of the exploration/stealth/setting and because this is my first Deus Ex so didn't have any expectations TBH. And I got it cheaply.
The story is a bit sparse, though.

Just purchased this yesterday, probably going to start it tonight. The gameplay looks decent but not sure about the story. How is it?

For a Deus Ex game, mediocre. I think a lot of people were expecting a more engaging, far reaching and deeper plot as a continuation to the events of HR. That said, it's still well worth playing.

On another note. I completed a second playthough last night. I shot everyone who got in my way, did only a couple of side quests, no exploration and ran from main quest marker to main quest marker. Took me 16 hours. Felt like I'd missed out on a lot. Which I had.
